I am SO HAPPY Latrice touched on her feelings towards marriage and why she decided to get Married. I always kind of got a giggle out of Season 4 Drag Race Latrice giving her opinions on same sex marriage and explaining how she didn't quite get the appeal though she totally respected it and thought same sex couples should still be able to form full unions like heterosexual couples, and then when she returned for All Stars Season 4 and her being like "OMG I'M GETTING MARRIED YOU GUYS" blushing bride to be anytime they brought up her fiance. I had always wondered what her current outlook towards same sex marriage and unions was now and what changed her mind.

On season 4 Drag Race they had a conversation in the workroom about samesex marriages and Latrice mentioned she didn't fully agree with it then clarified to the others she agreed they should legally be allowed to form some kind of a union but she didn't think it should be called marriage. That was what always made me giggle specifically since it was kind of like a "I don't think it should be called marriage" in Drag Race then flip to "I'm getting married!" in All Stars. :)

RIGHT?!?! I wasn't familiar with her before Drag Race, and when she was introduced in her opening look I was like "who is this angry standoffish lady, I don't think I'm gonna like her" and by the end of the episode I was like "okay I love this person, I want to know everything about this person." She's probably one of the more real queens to have been on the show, like when she says "no drama, no tea, no shade" then reads someone for something; you know she actually means it and she is stating truth not playing mind games. It's also kind of amazing how terrified a lot of queens are of Latrice simply because she isn't faking being nice or hard; she really is the person she is being on stage and camera, which is probably why queens like Jinkx get along with her so well despite having very little in common professionally or socially besides both being drag queens that have been on Drag Race so now they get booked on the same tours.

@@mariahwhitneycelinejanetmadona I just totally misread her personality, her walk on line to the girls was yelling "EAT IT!" then all the greeting was pretty much edited down so she went from smiles and laughs to her resting bitch face. Then in the photo challenge the edit kind of made it look like she was just complaining about the whole thing like she was just over it and kind of gave up. Upon rewatching though and knowing who Latrice was and more of her personality interacting with people I totally don't see that in her walk in now; it's her being silly and owning the moment. I think also knowing that "The shade,THE SHADE OF IT ALL!" is a catch phrase of hers made a huge difference in how I clocked her mood wrong the first time I watched Season 4. I was pretty sold on loving her as soon as they got back to the workroom after they got their supplies. Also to be fair she didn't get much screen time compared to some of the girls between the photoshoot and her telling Ru about Prison in the one-on-one in the workroom, but it did not take much convincing to realize how wrong I was about my first impression.

We were lucky enough to be married by Latrice in 2015 on a RuPaul Drag Stars At Sea sponsored by Al & Chuck Travel. Michelle Visage was the M.C. and Latrice was dressed like Mahalia Jackson! Friends, Sahar and his mother from Israel and Linda stood up with us. It wouldn't have happened without the help of Al & Chuck coordinator, Eddie Sotomayor, Jr. He was adorable and always wore a top hat. Months later he would be blown away at Orlando Pulse.
