Hello, UK. I want to say I am an American woman, and your current situation had a big effect on my vote. I did not want to go down the path of 4 more years of liberal policies. The UK sounds almost dystopian now, people can't heat their homes or afford food or get timely healthcare. And these new taxes. I taught British literature as my career and I love the UK and have visited the British Isle many times. So I like to keep abreast of things there and in Europe. I voted conservative. In my state, liberals lost everything. Even a good friend on our state Supreme Court lost, oh well. That (D) in front of your name (to indicate you are a Democrat), isn't going to help with this inflation and everything else.

Hi, I'm a liberal and I'll try to answer your questions. 1. I'm not a fan of tax breaks for billionaires, de-emphasis on unions, not a fan of his support for Israel (I will give credit where it's due and say that Trump did better with foreign policy than Biden/Harris did). I also don't like how both parties handled COVID with the lockdowns and extensive mandates. I prefer how Belarus handled it, probably not the answer you were expecting from a progressive, haha). Also I'm unhappy about Roe v Wade being overturned (but it did need reformed, abortion after the second trimester shouldn't be done unless the mother's life is in danger IMO). Also not a fan of the Trump admin's disregard for LGBT people (I admit some on the left go way too far the other way though). I also am not a fan of how the Trump administration seemed to view Muslims. 2. I can't really say anything good about Biden or Harris. I hated their support of Ukraine sending our tax money there and their tone-deaf COVID policies. I admit that I wasn't a fan of Harris, the DNC installed her as the candidate, she never won a primary and many liberals like myself voted for her because she's not Trump. I'm honestly not surprised she lost. I'm shocked it was such a landslide. But it sent a message and hopefully the Democrats do some self-reflecting or else they're going to get blown out again in 2028. Congratulations on your guy winning, I mean that honestly. My "side" deserved to lose by running such a disastrous campaign. And I have to roll my eyes at how many of my fellow liberals never said anything but "baby hands orange man Drumpf" as if that did anything but keep Trump in the spotlight. Not a liberal here but, cost of living, housing, healthcare, obesity, unions, American manufacturing, college education, paid sick leave, paid family leave, social security expansion, increasing the minimum wage, increasing wages, corruption, tax breaks for the wealthy, tax breaks for corporations, prescription drug prices, gun violence, cost of rent, and climate change. These are all issues that persist today. Neither Trump or Biden did a good job at addressing these issues. Imagine being a carpenter. And you have to construct a house. But instead you build a single room and leave everything else untouched. Does that make me a good carpenter? Does a president that doesn’t address these issues make them a good president? Obviously not.
