I am a 74 year old woman with a chest infection. I rang my GP at 8am and I think the call was routed to India. I was told it would be passed on to the triage team; then received a text at 11.30am telling me to watch a video which would show me how to take a photo of the back of my throat. No listening to my chest. How on earth would they know if I had a chest infection by looking at the back of my throat on a photo! I am lucky enough to have a private GP practice nearby so made an appointment, where the GP treated me like a proper patient with a chest infection and prescribed antibiotics. What is the point of even having a GP surgery?
