sure thing, I'll make a video on that as I hopefully get back into the swing of things on YT, I do have a whole backlog of videos to edit but I'll try my best hehe. I did like publishing but since I was an intern for only about a year, more than halfway remotely, it's hard since it wasn't that long. For me it was mostly the work I was doing, so I was doing PR in publishing, but wanted to do more marketing, so I switched to working in tech where I got to do content marketing! Thanks for the video idea though, I'll try to plan it out :)

ahhh that is so so exciting congrats girl!!!! I'm def looking to make a video on that I have a ton, but also at the same time I'm still always learning looool but would love to share!! What's been really helping me the last few months is marketing linkedin courses!! For copywriting, content strategy, etc. There's one by Joanna of CopyHackers that's life-changing, her copywriting teaching resources are literally GOLD! But yeah will def see if i have any more and make a video on it :)

As a newly graduate illustration and animation bachelor I find it a bit bizarre that my job wants me to get more into marketing coordination on the side of my illustration and video work while I have no background in business or marketing. hey!! I've found linkedin learning courses super helpful as they have a lot of beginner friendly marketing courses that are really easy to understand! I know, in the creative world it's crazy how sometimes they expect you to be a designer, marketer, copywriter, video strategist, business expert (basically everything) all in one!

Hey great video! Im currently in my final year doing a History degree, it involves a lot of writing and researching. Was it hard transitioning into a marketing coordinator role despite not going to school for a marketing/communications degree? Like were there things that you were unfamiliar while you were doing your job? I personally want to apply to these marketing jobs but I hesitate b/c I might not know some fundamental stuff going in.

I have the exact same thoughts always, wish I took marketing or business in school, it def would’ve helped! Honestly it was a bit difficult but I also had a PR internship previously that really helped me with a lot of transferable marketing skills, like partnerships etc. You mentioned you have research skills which is very critical in marketing! I did and am always continuing to do skills training on LinkedIn, and trying to learn diff parts of marketing more in depth. I think it depends what kind of marketing you’re more interested in specializing, like product marketing, content (SEO, video, social) customer, etc. But yeah there was lots I didn’t know when starting the role that are mostly on the job learning! I’d say if you’re a good writer and researcher, and determined to learn everything else you don’t know, you should def apply!! I def recommend an internship to help you gain experience, and personal passion projects to show your passion/learning. Those really help in the application process! I’ve been thinking of making a video on this def soon, but hope this helps in the meantime! 🤗
