I inherited an umbrella stand and put a small wooden round on top. PERFECT next to my reading chair in a corner where a “regular” table wouldn’t fit. I appreciate how you have seen the good in the items you have found and not covered them in baking soda+paint to dupe something from Pottery Barn 🙄
@LaughCryDIY7 ай бұрын
I love to hear this! Hahah. Admittedly, I’ve baking soda painted a few pieces-but never for a pottery barn dupe. 😂😂😂😂 I can’t do beige.

I am always repurposing finds. Old 2 man crosscut saw for a curtain rod Thick, vintage bed covers for draft and light excluding door curtains A vintage steamer trunk into a composting toilet A tall and skinny bedside table for a bathroom sink stand An old door behind the cooker instead of tiles A wooden gate rescued from a woodpile for a headboard And much, much more!

OK I love these!!!! I am especially fond of rescued doors and gates. In Paris, I saw an old art nouveau gate that I would have robbed a bank for.

I also use all kinds as things for plant stands or a book stand. Every one laughs at me because I’ll take something and diy it. If I need something to do a display at the thrift store where I work I’ll go around the store till I find an item of two to put together for me to use. My house is mostly all DIYs.

It’s good to see that you’re using these things. My favourite things are the spice rack and the apothecary cabinet with the palm tree bookends getting an honourable mention. Unfortunately I am the grim reaper when it comes to plants, so I’ll never need plant stands.

I have peacock feathers too! (Didn’t show them in this vid though.) I love ‘em. I had to look up Ibis, as I’d never heard of them. Very cool. I also always want bouquets around. I’ve been wanting to do make some epic paper flowers so that I can keep them out full-time. Maybe a future episode...

Love your video. I do the same. I moved into an all white painted apartment. In the space between the kitchen cupboards and the ceiling, I displayed settings of plates, jugs and cups etc in the greens and blues to set a colour scheme. Spacing each grouping is important. I put little hidden lights and I get a WOW from everyone who enters. All found or bought in thrift stores and discount stores.

My great aunt gave me a plant stand in the shape of an elephant, and I've used it as an end table for a decade now. Every apartment, dorm room, house I've lived in, it's come with me. Last year, I found its twin on goodwill's website, and I had to buy it. Now I have two elephants on each side of my recliner, just like the lion statues from Between the Lions.
