@@thebadlander3608 Because the barrel is in line with the grip. Unless you drill a hole through the shooter's hand, there's no way to reconfigure this into a bull pup design

Isnt gas escaping around the piston? Could explain why are all internals so messy after 50 rounds.

A bit exaggerated I'm sure, slide will begin moving a bit instantly or it wouldn't cycle but they got the concept right.

the downside is the heat dissipation into the frame, that was the main problem with the otherwise great HK P7 pistol. after high round count it gets just too hot... remember: metal frame, metal trigger and so on...

It's not intended for a large number of rounds fired at a small time frame at the range, for overheating...also, not a good system for automatic weapons, for the same reason. Other things are excellent, lines of the barrel with the grip/wrist, recoil, etc. and no, someone said it is going immediately out of battery (opens the chamber) -no, because it would be too dangerous, there is enough pressure left, to push slide back, long after bullet leaves the barrel... Also, lower pressure ammo, or stronger one +P, will "auto adjust" pressure levels in the piston area, to equally cycle the gun. And normally that some gas's is leaking around, so it will be messy inside, but any weapon needs to be clean. Età easy to disassembly so ...Excellent design in many ways... Regards from Serbia

Von der HK P7 ist bekannt das sie zwar technisch top, aber bei schnellen Schussfolgen sehr schnell sehr heiß wird. Bin ein wenig skeptisch. Könnte auch zu einem Problem bei der Alien Pistol werden. Man bedenke: Vollmetall-Griffstück & Lauf direkt verbunden, Leichtmetallabzug...

@@GordonsReloading Der Gaskolben bei der Laugo ist über dem Lauf und damit deutlich weiter von der Hand entfernt. Die Wärmeleitung erfolgt praktisch nur über den Stahllauf in das Griffstück. Bei der P7 ist der Zylinder des Gaskolbens direkt in das Alu Griffstück eingesetzt. Dieses führt zu einer besseren Wärmeleitung in das Griffstück.

This pistol Looks cool , but is a mixture of four types pistols. And there is more than one kind of locking system on H&K p7 pistol. Also I hope that after continuously firing 100 shots, the shooter can still hold the this gun with bare hands. If the price is more than $800, then it is not worth to buy.

Well, that's what this gun works like. They lowered the barrel by putting the piston, hammer and recoil spring above the barrel.

Doesn't appear to be the case based on this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6HJZqalaJ6lsLc It looks like the recoil spring rides where you think the gas delay piston would reside. And I certainly hope it isn't the case. A P7 style system would get really hot in a competition gun. If you're going to do a gas delayed blowback pistol, you'd be better copying the system off the Steyr GB, which is what I hope they did.
