Found a kind of janky solution, summon the item with gravity disabled and the motion specified but set to 0 for all values. Then apply the motion, and then after that have a command running to set the gravity of all items with the motion_applied tag that do not have a motion of 0 to enabled. No idea why this happens or why this works, but my guess is something to do with optimization and interpolating. The game assumes the object will not have its motion drastically changed normally and so has to catch up when it realizes it guessed the wrong place for where the object will be. Changing the gravity tag lets the game realize sooner that the objects trajectory may be messed with.
@switchcubed85292 жыл бұрын
After fiddling around with Zafalron's solution, I found a way to fix the issue with minimum commands. Create a new function file. Let's call it "update.mcfunction" After the final line "tag @s add motion_added", add this line: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ schedule function YourDatapackName:update 2t ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This will run "update.mcfunction" 1/10th of a second after your projectile spawns. Trying to update the projectile sooner than 2 ticks will do nothing. In your "update.mcfunction" file, add these lines: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ execute as @e[tag=motion_added, tag=!updated] run data modify entity @s NoGravity set value True execute as @e[tag=motion_added, tag=!updated] run data modify entity @s NoGravity set value False execute as @e[tag=motion_added, tag=!updated] run tag @s add updated ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This should force the snowball's graphical position to update. You can use another file too if you want to avoid running the execute as command 3 times, but for simplicity this is fine.

Hey Timber Forge, i have another question. I have been making alot of custom weapons, but i have made them separately. I have made 2 wands at one rightClick detector. It took some pretty much time, so i was wondering if i could do it easier. I am asking for an easy way to make a rightClick detector for carrot_on_a_stick with multiple wands. It's hard to explain but... here is a little example: FireWand ---- shoot1 HealWand ----- shoot2 FreezeWand ----- shoot3 at the moment, i have made a similar way of doing this. But they are all attached to one rightclick instead of 3. Is there a way of doing this? Or can you just tell me the easiest way to do it :)
@TimberForge3 жыл бұрын
You can use one right click scoreboard, but then detect which item the player is holding when you want to shoot. Ex: if right click score is over 1, and holding firewand, do shoot 1. If right click score over 1, and holding healwand, shoot2, etc
@simonbuskandre48763 жыл бұрын

I tried using this with an arrow but they always end up barely gaining any motion and just fall to the ground no matter how much I alter the scaling. Any idea what I did wrong? I checked over a few times and to my knowledge I followed the tutorial exactly as presented. After a bit of tinkering with the entity that calls the function I managed to have motion applied, but it only goes straight down really fast now. I thought it could somehow have something to do with the arrow falling a little before motion is applied (I don't see how that would be the case though) which would have an effect on the motion_y2 score so i tried applying the NoGravity tag. That only made it start slowly floating diagonally when it hit the ground. I'm not sure if I'm missing something really small (probably) or if something was changed between updates but I can't get this to work properly now.
@TimberForge3 жыл бұрын
The concept should still work. I would try to print the motion data of the arrow periodically at certain points in your functions to constantly check the values so you can see where the issue is- i.e. check if the motion is being calculated incorrectly, scaled incorrectly, or if the arrow isn’t moving how you expect it to move even though the motion data at the time of moving is correct.
@lieutenantgonads3 жыл бұрын
@@TimberForge Thanks for the suggestion. After a little bit of playing around I managed to find the source of my problem. The way I had the function's call set up was flawed and caused it to target the wrong entity which made each arrow start essentially teleport to the ground.

It might just be thst the scale value is too low when you apply the motion again.
