*** UPDATE *** I have more information about this issue here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5vOfp9se6yHbc0. *** This is what I have for my Bluetooth scan tool ( amzn.to/327Ritw ). This works great. I use it all the time and it reads codes without issue. Of course you have to have an app installed on your phone that supports it, but there are many and most have free versions. See the Amazon page and reviews for the best apps.

I have a Bluetooth one too and it's great. I can read all the codes and clear some of the basic ones. It's all I need.

Hi i have the same that i got from amazon,,,works good,,,im able to clear codes ..like air bags and check engine abs....no issues for now,,,and did not do a update on it yet...its not a fake device,,,its just sold directly from china,,,so cheaper ,,,that why launch usa is frustated..beacause they dont get there cut $$$ on it

I got one today from amazon. Do I have to register it with my email in order to use it now? Also what is the updated version numbers now. Mine has boot version V10.10. Also the regisration number and ser number shows up on it on the screen.

I bought the Amazon one just to read an airbag code… it read it however it does not clear it although the device says it did…

I remember a few years back my Matco guy had these he mentioned there were fake ones out there. I ended up going with a different scanner, but my boy bought one never had any issues

Yeah, it worked fine but could not do what I needed it to do. Just know there is basically no support for it. It did function fine though.

it worked for me, had to erase my SRS code on my 04 GTO. selected the erase 3 times and had shut the car off and turned it back on, code cleared

It is not the scan tool. It is GM. You arelocked out of clearing some of the codes on a hybrid. They say it's a safety thing. More likely a CYA thing.

I was actually able to clear them, but I needed a more expensive tool. But I do agree, you have to get fancy to clear some of them. They do seem to lock some out and make it very hard for a consumer to clear.

It's not fake or a knockoff. No local authorised Launch distributors anywhere in the world support Launch products sold by China's Launch authorised online distributors. Local dealers only honour warranty and support if they are bought through the local distribution channels... All Launch products are made in China in the Shenzhen factory...

The product specs are for global use, usually similar or the same as those sold by Launch USA and Launch Europe but often with different names, or slight variations in branding or look. Launch customises their products for regional dealers. eg. Launch X431 PRO3 has the same specs and functions as the Launch X431 V+ but the PRO3 is sold only by official regional distributors and the V+ by online distributors or people reselling them from Alibaba/Aliexpress. All legal, but no local warranty and support.

This CRP123 has been around since 2013, so it's a bit of a dinosaur compared to most similar scanners... The CRP123X is much improved...

I just received the 123x from Amazon yesterday. I don't see any ABS or brake tests. Tried to call the number in China. Won't go through. I called LAUNCH USA and they said it's made in China but others are made in the US. To be purchased through their authorized dealers: AutoZone, Advance Auto... Others are made all over the world and distributed to USA. They might not have the same functions as the ones produced for the American market. Pissed me off big time. I just emailed launch in China. I'll post what I get for a response, if I get a response. Thanks for posting this video!

I am curious when will the "real" launch file a cease and desist order to keep their name off the reader. No lawsuit then I am skeptical of their claim. I have both the Bluetooth reader and this type. The blue tooth does not monitor my cars ABS system which is important for me. I git this reader 2 days ago and tested it out 30 minutes ago on my other car and it does monitor the wheel speed sensor in real time. I will be using it tomorrow on my Corvette to determine which sensor needs replacement. Knock off or not, it serves my needs

Yeah, I am not sure of the real issue with them. Fake, knockoff, Overseas Version, ... whatever. If it works, great. My issue was it did not do what I needed it to do and I could not get any support.

I don't think you have a fake launch scanner. I bought mine from the company and it has the same thing while you're talking about the problem is they're just trying to do sales.. it's the same thing when you're trying to buy tools from a Snap-On guy if you didn't buy it from that first snap-on guy they won't warranty your snap-on to another rep.

Really?! That's crazy. So you think this is a real Launch tool, its just that is was bought on Amazon VS directly with them that makes it an issue? Maybe we just don't say that or do they have some look up that will tell them based on serial number? Luckily I don't buy Snap-On tools but my dad did for many years. Those guys were sharks.

@@SeidelRanch Yes it's real. I didn't have that same model but it's a real launch tool I know I had problems updating the software. And their software sucks to update scan tools. You have to probably wait until like 2 years to update your software. And yes I bought one from Amazon and I also bought another one from direct from launch and it has the same thing as the book what you're saying.

If the code was going to go away it would have went away after you driving it , it would be no need to erase it unless it’s a airbag light

That is true for some codes, but some need to be cleared to go away. My son's Chevy Volt has many codes that have to be erased to be cleared. Some have to be cleared just to start it.

Bought this to read an airbag code. I already have a reader for all other codes connected with the stereo that I had upgraded in the vehicle. The machine read the code, I researched the fix for it and found the wire was actually disconnected altogether so I reconnected and “cleared” the code but it did not clear anything so unfortunately I can’t even test it to see if it fixed the issue or not meaning I will still have to go to a dealer to have it done and this is no good for me!

Yeah, I had the same issue. I could read the codes, but it really did not clear anything. I ended up buying a VCX Nano and that did everything I needed.

looks kind of like they knocked off the CRP123 basic model. The CRP123E looks nothing like that if you order it from Launch.

The card that came with my brand-new CRP123 got damaged by the update and now the CRP123 won't run without the card and I can't even restart the update tool because I can't get a "register code" out of the CRP123 because it refuses to run! Everything hinges on the integrity of that card! NOW what do I do? I have NOTHING.

I backed up my TF card before updating it just in case. And yes, the TF card integrity is a failure point.

I bought the launch 123x off of Amazon and went thru the same thing. Launch USA does not support items bought off of Amazon even though it says Launch store on Amazon. My scanner works but I'm not happy about the Amazon thing.

Do you need to have internet to used it ? If you don't updates does that still work without updates ? Out from the box can you used it without wifi or internet ? Can this scan fpr Fuel Pressure ? And can this do compression test ?

It comes with software installed. It will work. The issue arrises only when you try to update it. Mine, BTW, updates fine.

Unless it's throwing codes I don't think it will tell you much about your AC.

Well it worked for my AC system I had to dig around .finally found it after about 5 minutes code was P0532 I had already tested pressure with my gauge set it was fine , but I took the gamble on a $6 low pressure sensor being defective what do you know. Works great again I'm thinking for the price I paid for this scanner maybe I we'll just keep it because a lot of times when I bring mine home from work I tend to forget it at home it's pretty basic it won't get you into a lot of the big-ticket items but it would definitely save you money

Well, this video still has good information and is not false information. Launch USA support did tell me all of this info. The difference is I now know Launch USA is not Launch. Launch USA is the overpriced version of Launch (China) and basically what we do with all of our US products. We buy them from China for pennies and charge US customers $1000s for the same product. Amazon just now gives China sellers a portal to sell directly to the US.
