Being a Capri owner I love this ad so much . It puts a smile on my face everytime I watch it. 1969 was a different time

I remember - as a 15 year old, in 1969 and not then a particularly car-conscious person - being impressed with the lines of this car. And it still looks good in 2022.

My dad bought this version of Capri in 1975. 1300,dark blue. So many memories with this car... Dad teached me how to change speeds and let me do it. He pushed the clutch and i choose the right speed. I was 6 years old. ❤

My parents & g'mother bought me a 2000GT XLR with special body paint (gold & black) for my 21st birthday!! The only car I have owned (inc. many other new cars) that used to have people gathered around it, peering in to the interior, whilst it was parked in Brighton (and Hove, actually). Made one feel good when they saw a spotty git climbing in - many snide comments. But bugger them.....I had the car!!!

My father had a ´70 Capri 1,7 V4 in green, a short time later the hood and fender cutouts were painted in a matt black RS-style. It was a bautiful car. When he met his future wife, my mother, on the way, he drove her home with the Mk I. On the way he stopped at the edge of the forest and started wiping the dashboard. My mother was amazed ... so much about Capri and women :-)

What a fabulous advert campaign. I absolutely adore the Ford Capri. Mk1,2 or 3. They’re all stunning. A perfect car for the time and now a desirable classic. Although I have to say what are Ford thinking with the new electric Capri? Just cashing in on a name if you ask me. Not a Capri at all. Come on Ford you can do a lot better than that.

The Mark I Capri was sold in the U.S. at Lincoln-Mercury dealers from 1970 to 1975 (to the best of my knowledge) when it was succeeded by the Capri II until 1978. All U.S.-market Capris were built in Saarlouis and Cologne, Germany.

The hardest choice would be what color.... they all look good, those 3. But since I have a Welly model of the Capri in red, that will be the one I'd pick, if I could ever own one.

I don’t wonder they sold well, this advert reeks of optimism!

It was a nice car. Shame though that after mk I Capri was discontinued, sales weren't as good on the mk II Capri with the facial changes and with the mk III Capri things dropped drastically as hot hatches started to eat it's coat tails and raced ahead of it.

What market was this film for? The cars are all left hand drive, and they're using kilometers instead of miles per hour.

Still think the MK1 was the best looking. I had the 3.0l GTXLR for 10 years, loved it, I still think they should have left the styling alone and just make it a hatchback.

Simple solution: pick the Capri over the 3 women, at least the Capri is an appreciating asset while women only go down hill and the running costs are way too high.
