Welcome to the channel Brain! Ah yes you can see a list of some of the functions the scanner supports at the 8:10 mark. However Launch does accept Vin numbers to confirm if it will support the function you need it to (since this varies from car to car) Hope this helps, Cheers!

Can't wait to watch this later tonight. Related, would this device (or do you know of any) read the specifics of the radio module in a GM car? I have a code scanner that can "read the network" and it does see things like the radio and HVAC and report trouble codes but doesn't see specific parameters like the GM service manual claims can be seen like power state or input setting that might be useful when the radio display is dead.

Hi Targip Gadponson! the listing (link to it in the video description) from Launch shows that it can access the radio and multimedia function. However it won't say how much detail you will be able to see since this varies from Car Model and Yr (some support more or less PIDs). The easiest way to confirm is to contact Launch, they accept vin numbers and can check to see if the function you need will be supported before you actually order one. Hope this helps. Cheers!

@@AlexAutoFun Thanks for the info about asking Launch. Never thought about that. My current bluetooth OBD dongle is alright but I see ones like you've profiled here and it's very tempting. I need to know if my integrated HVAC/radio is bad or if it's something else like BCM, controls, or power because the procedure to take the dash apart is a beast. Thanks again.

Hi Jon-Boy3! if you are working on BMW, RR or Mini you shouldn't have to but Launch does accept VIN's if you sent that in to them they can confirm the scanner can access the function you need before purchasing. Hope this helps, Cheers!

Hi CreationTool! yes some (but not all) cars do support controlling the trunk release via a bidirectional tool, Launch accepts Vin numbers, so they can check if the tool will support the function you need it to before buying. Hope this helps, Cheers!

@@AlexAutoFun thanks for your response. It's a BMW Z4 E89. The trunk is stuck closed due to a roof failure. When a roof sensor fails it automatically stops the trunk lid from opening. People use such tools to release the trunk by triggering the actuator. I've seen it done before, I'm hoping this tool will support this function.

Yes the scanner does support ABS and SAS service modules, however actually being able to activate a specific component varies from car to car (vehicles have different levels of control, some allow you to active more things than others) Launch does accepts VIN numbers if you want them to check if it will be able to access the specific function you need. Hi John! While this tool covers multiple car systesms, the best way to confirm if a particular function is covered is to contact Launch as they accept Vin numbers so they can check and confirm if the scanner will support it or suggest if a different tool model is needed. Hope this helps, Cheers!

I own a tenth Gen Honda Civic Sedan with R18Z1 engine. However if you need support for the Civic then this Creader Elite will likely not be the right scanner for you as it is only available on the car brands listed on the video description. Ah remember this scanner will only have full functionality for the Car brand that you purchase (I put links to the different brands supported on the video description) So for example, if you buy the BMW on that will not have full features for the Mercedes one, you would want to instead buy the one for Mercedes. While I been able to use mine offline, most Bidirectional scanners require an internet connection at somepoint to be able to access the VIN database, for advanced functions that need a server response, for updates etc. (But do miss the days when we were able to fix cars without so much dependace on computers ugh) However, I do have more OBD2 Scanner reviews in my channel in the playlist "OBD2 Scanners" if you like see other brand models. You shouldn't listen to everyone or anyone that doesn't read a owner's manual .. just got mine and and wifi "Is Not" required .. it does ends like some smart functions of the scanner since it is android based .. but it functions manually as well
