Hi Sir, Ava from England here. May I please ask if the recording loop in 3 minutes overrides the previous three minutes? Or is it the case that once you stop driving and review your recordings, you will have multiple three minute recordings? If the latter, may I also ask when will it override all the recordings or does it never do that? Thanks for such an amazing video!
@AlexAutoFun9 сағат бұрын
Hi Ava! Loop recording records continuously (segmenting the video into clips) until the memory is full. Once the memory car is full, the video beings to be overwritten starting with the oldest clip ensuring you have fresh video available while overwriting old video, Cheers!

Regarding parking monitoring not needed if car is parked in garage. The biggest threat to car damage is in parking lots, not driveways. Of course, theft could occur in parking lot or driveway.
@AlexAutoFun10 сағат бұрын
Hi Ken! Ah yes good input, I think didn't expand on that subject as much as I should, I mention park mode potentially not being used if the car is garaged because this is a common practice a lot of my viewers do to reduce battery drain (from a hardwire kit) when their car is parked in their garage. Now, I do also have another number viewers who leave their park mode on all the time (even when on a secured area), so probably some level of preference here but I agree, highest probability of danger is when car is exposed in an unsecured location. Cheers!

I don’t know if you’ll reply after so long, but this is my car and I’ve been having so much trouble! So I’m trying to wire a dashcam battery pack for parking mode. The instructions say to wire to a “10A or less fuse” so would the 15A cigarette fuse still work or am going to blow something up?!
@AlexAutoFunКүн бұрын
Hi P! The Amp rating of the fuse for the hardwire kit is determined by the hardwire kit being used (some kits have higher Amp requirements and some have lower amp draw). My camera stays on when the car is turned off, shouldn’t it stop recording when the car is turned off? I’m worried it will drain the battery. Note: I do have the camera hardwired.
@AlexAutoFunКүн бұрын
Hi Casey! When correctly hardwired the dash cam will turn off and enter park mode (if enabled in the dash cam's setting) when the car is off. I would have the installer check all the connections (ACC, BATT & GND) to confirm that they connected to the correct locations for ACC and BATT (I seen cases where the dash cam stays on constantly if ACC and BATT are reversed or connected to the incorrect locations that does not provide power at the correct time for both ACC and BATT) Here is my follow up detailed hardwire install if you want to see that process kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWPMfIugbZdma5Y Cheers!

Hi M! Yep! on some hardwire kits ACC is yellow and BAT is red and in others BAT is yellow and ACC is red. In my case, it was the positive pin, so bridging to the shell would not work. I abandoned the mini-USB entirely and left it in place, and instead used a pigtail with a power connector. I drilled a 9/64" hold to pass the cable into the mirror. I was able to solder the red positive wire from the pigtail by scraping away the green insulation on the copper circuit path that connected to the positive pin #1. Then I soldered the negative ground to the shell of the USB port. Then I cut away the mini-USB plug from the car power adapter and soldered on a mating connector. The mirror powered up right away. It flickered at first because the new 750mA battery needed charging, so I shut off the display until the battery was charged. Problem solved!

Hi Rofolfo! The instruction for updating the tool are found in your owners manual, page 29 if I remember correctly however I usually don't recommend updating the firmware unless directed by tech support to do so or if you are willing to accept the the risks involved with updating it. If something goes wrong during the upgrade, you can potentially turn your scanner into a brick (it has even happened to me LOL). Firmware updates for these type of scanners are not like the App updates we get on our phones (where we are constantly updating it). I would be extremely careful if attempting this. Cheers!
