So amazing. No one has ever posted anything like this, to date, showing the simple but superb functionality of the Mini Mk3. Really is something special to listen to and get lost in, both the device itself (in my own limited experience so far) and your expert execution of this song. P.s. I’d really love to see a breakdown of how you did everything in your DAW (assuming it was Ableton). It’s still such a struggle for me to find any easy to learn solutions on KZbin for this sort of thing, like for e.g. what midi cord actually works with the mini mk3,or how you’re triggering your DAW using the mini to start recording a loop for your connected guitar. You seem to be doing so many parts of of these songs live at the time of recording the video. I often record each part and then just play them back in sequence. But to play and loop them on the spot like this… seems like magic to me, still, hah.

Hi, great cover. I have a doubt, I hope you can help me, can I use the sustain input of the Novation mini mk3 to connect a footswitch? I think that's what you're doing in the video but I can't see it. Is it possible to configure it in any daw or do I need to download a special program? I have a Marshall footswitch from an amp. Thanks :)
@StringBard Жыл бұрын
Hello and thanks! :) I have a cheap midi pedal from amazon that works very well, I usally assign it to the clip record button in Ableton via midi learn. I dont think you can use your marshall footswitch because it can't send the needed midi messages (I know it because I tried with a fender one once

Hi! I really liked your video, and i want to buy this launchkey but its my first time buying something like this so ill need help! I have an acoustic guitar that has no plug in, so could i buy this launchkey and attach it to my laptop and record and loop my guitar live (through laptops mic)? Idk if it will work because as i said, i have nothing to attach my guitar to... thank you❤️
@StringBard4 жыл бұрын
Hello! You need an audio interface to which you can connect your guitar via a standard 6.3 jack or an audio interface + a microphone if your guitar is not amplified. I suggest a Behringer UM2 as a starting point, and if you need a microphone a BM800/NW800

hi sir,i am interestedin buying a launchkey and wandering around youtube looking at covers like yours,i got a question, are u making this song using the sample sound in ableton to create a song which is similar but not exactly the same as original? is it how those live loop cover found on youtube are made in the same way?
@StringBard4 жыл бұрын
Hello man! I usually use free VST to recreate sounds from scratch, except piano, some drumkits and synths that I get from the Ableton library. I rarely use samples, I study the song and try to understand the instruments and how I can re-arrange the track to comfortably loop it.

How did you connect the guitar to play the loop along with the launchkey? i have a boss loop pedal rc 30, and i have a boss pedal gt1 that can work as an audio interface. How to connect all this to record together at ableton? Can you help me? I've searched a lot and haven't found how to do that.
@StringBard3 жыл бұрын

Hi, I‘m a absolutely beginner and my english could also be better, but can I connect my Guitar with this midi and combinate them both on my pc in one program? Hope you can understand my question and help me. Can I also make make audios with my piano with This midi?
@StringBard3 жыл бұрын
@@lindag.8963 you can use both the keyboard and the guitar at the same time in Ableton Live but you need an audio interface to record the guitar via jack audio, while the keyboard already has an USB connector and it's ready to go.

OMG THIS IS MAGNIFICENT!! do you use the lauchkey on session mode? I dont get why do you press the track beneath the one you want to play and then press the actual track to start recording the loop :0
@StringBard4 жыл бұрын
Probably because I still don't know how to use it properly! I use this method so I'm not forced to record everything and for example add temporary textures. I still didn't find a better method mainly because of the audio guitar parts. For some reason midi and audio tracks don't work the same way in Ableton, so I mapped the underneath buttons to arm the tracks and I use a pedal to trigger loops, but sometimes I still press the pad on the keyboard for no apparent reason :)
@StringBard4 жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly it didn't let me arm the next track while I was playing the before loop. I had to wait a cycle to record again (that is what most people usually do). But I wanted sequencial looping! Let me know if you know a better way to do it!
@cbaandsongs254 жыл бұрын
@@StringBard oh thank you very much for your reply!, sadly Im also still learning how to properly loop with ableton (just managed to play simultaneously drums and piano in pads and keys repectively with two separate tracks) If I manage to find a way I will let you know!

@StringBard2 жыл бұрын
Guitar is through an Audio Interface that goes Into Ableton... The Launchkey Mini acts just like a midi controller
@alexbogdan42492 жыл бұрын
@@StringBard thanks, I understand that, just that I can't get my guitar to stop recording after 4 bars without pressing a button. Currently I'm using a small script I found online(which creates a 4 bars loop), but I was thinking maybe your method might be better(at least looks smoother). Cheers!
@StringBard2 жыл бұрын
I used a Max4Live plugin if I remember well... but yeah I'm searching a smarter way too. I can't believe we still don't have such an important feature included into the DAW
@dbanshee2 жыл бұрын
Really great performance! Keep going! At 2:02 finishing a guitar clip, recording automatically stops. How it works? Are you previously creating a empty clip with fixed bar length? Using plugin? (Supposing Ableton) Thanks for your time.

Midi foot pedal triggers start/stop recording in ableton live (I mapped that with the Midi learn function)
