Saw flom talk about it and kinda confirm my own thoughts that it is the players who make moves like this, for any reason like not fitting the vibe or any other conflict that might have happened. Esports need to move in the direction that NaVi is going rn and that is more authority to the coach and less for star players who cant take any criticism.

people overestimate the T1 IGL role tbh. Even T1 CS is highly pug based. Teams have set strats, defaults, and reactions, but at the end of the day, T1 players think, as long as they can get to mid round, they can pug it out and 'call' based around the game plans they've got set or the other team.

@@NirvzHD oh damn really what team do you play on?
@NirvzHD6 ай бұрын
@@bobbyross7700 You can go back and listen to hours of voice comms of T1 cs games. It's not new. Certain teams play different, some IGLs micro-manage, but lots of teams pug like crazy. G2 winning in Dallas was a great example... They definitely ran some set strats, but they were much more loose than when HooXi was calling. I also wasn't saying IGL in T1 cs is easy. What I'm saying is that the players tend to underestimate the role and think they can pug or think they can effectively comm while focusing on fragging. There's a reason the CS player legacy usually includes being a fragging player > IGL > coach. It's kind of a meme at this point. Everyone ends up thinking they can IGL.

I have been saying that Liquid's downfall in the last iteration was a culmination of clashing ideologies from cadiaN (Heroic) vs zews (BRA71L) vs YEKINDAR (VP/Jame), but add Twistzz wanting to IGL (FaZe), and it's clear how many ideas and egos there were (and still are?) in Liquid. How could that ever flourish? "A nation divided cannot stand". Also, JUSTICE FOR CADIAN!

Honestly great video but i don't agree on some parts especially malbs one, i think you overlook the main reason malbs was appointed in G2 it was clear G2 had a problem on maps that required a control on multiple places on the map on terrorist side. Like ancient or mirage, Nexa was just unable to control those places by himself malbs on the other hand is a perfect player designed to control those places and take the entry duel putting pressure on ct side, the other thing is Malbs used to play anchor on ct when he started his career so its not entirely new to him how to play these positions, our main problems where on t where malbs just improves it in a big way, his impact on terrorist is quadruple what nexa could provide and his ct side will also be better even with time, so i think even if he won't be able to match his terrorist impact that is why Snax is brought in as a much higher fragging igl he provides those 3-5 kills a map more so covers some mistakes on malbs side, in my opinion those transfers make a lot of more sense than people actually thought

On Liquid situation: I think there are two options: either Liquid knows something about ultimate we don't or they want to gamble because that was the only available option. I really don't believe they haven't considered s1mple or woro2k - there must be some other considerations with those two than just the money. We also don't know if s1mple even want to come back as his mental state is a bigger question mark than him performing in CS2. Ironically, I think the one who has the most to prove is Twistzz as even in Faze he had genius matches and had terrible ones. Also, him being IGL is a big unknown. On G2 situation: maybe snax is not a top tier IGL, but I think he was the only one available on that moment that can deliver individually, because situation with hooxi was dead, and I'm not talking about his stats, because he was mostly playing support or was giving opening trades for the team, which is more important than kills - I just can't imagine him continuing to play after trust was hurt so much with this stand-in situation... And, if it was true what snax has said that he had to as an IGL deal with players forgetting what was their role in specific tactics then I don't think we can blame him as the IGL for mixed results... malbs is a big unknown, but I don't think him switching roles might be definitely a bad idea - it's not like he's going to switch the game entirely and play Valorant now, players evolve and one thing I'm sure all pros on that level have is that ability to adapt to changes. TBH I'm mostly concerned with chemistry within the team with all that TaZ-snax drama, lol.

I honestly have more hope of this liquid lineup compared to last. Ultimate will be a better awper than cadian and I believe twistzz will prioritize setting him up like say Broky on faze. Jks is a huge upgrade for skullz and offers them much more stability on Ct side. I have been watching twistzz most recent faceit games with the team and he seems to be hyper agro on tside and if this team is to work he needs to keep that mentality up. They also have been working on setting him up with boosts and flashes. Not to mention he’s much more aggressive compared to cadian which will help keep t’s honest.

Does the Ultimate Situation remind anyone of Broky joining Faze in 2019??? A "Nobody" joins a team controlled by established international superstars with their best player switching to IGL. Ultimate may not be the next Monesy, but pulling off a Broky isn't impossible. Let's just hope that Twistzz has learned some player development from Karrigan. And hopefully if this Liquid squad fails, they would rebuild the team with a clearer identity and stronger structure, which will help with unity, chemistry, and player development,... If Cadian could do it in Heroic, there's no reason why Liquid couldn't.

I think your closing is what gets to me the most. These teams are the ones that played a large role in teams being unsustainable. Then after setting that precedent and showing they have the money to make these all star moves. They take players that should be getting their time to shine in mouz, GL, Monte, or Apeks. It just looks like management has a gambling problem and they will not take any advice from an Esports Betting Expert.

great video unc, but one thing that i think you missed is that signing s1mple instead of ultimate could potentially be detrimental to twistzz developing as an IGL. you look at the team, you have mostly agreeable, tame personalities, all of which don’t have the same achievements as twistzz. now add the greatest csgo player of all time, and you likely have a lot of disagreements of how the game is ran also, it kind of makes sense role-wise. ultimate is passive on CT side, while he’s a lot more agressive on T side. it’s literally only yeki on the team that makes space, and they need another (otherwise you have the past lineup’s problem of yeki running in dying, nobody trading him)

Imagine a team with the roster Niko, M0nesy, Twistzz, NAF, jks. Instant major contender. The biggest question mark is Twistzz igl but if Twistzz says he's ready to take on the igl role I say give him a chance he brings experience from playing under karrigan, and even if it's not perfect he has Niko who has experience igling at a high level who can share a bit of the burden.

I feel like these big teams want to replicate what FaZe did with Broky. Picked up an unknown guy that turned out to be amazing. But even FaZe first picked up Bymas and he didn't live up to expectations. It's not a science. IMO it's very hard to use "past experiences" as indicators of whether or not these can work. The players are ultimately what can make or break these moves. It's nice to theory craft but we really can't predict these. Cloud9 god tier roster fails. NAVI roster without s1mple wins the major. CadiaN with an arguably better team fails miserably. None of these make sense on paper, so I see little advantage in predicting too much into these. The on paper version is simply not real.

Liquid doesn’t wanna drop a bag on what at best will be a mediocre player atm and I can’t blame them. It’s not a great pick up in the short term tho i agree. The strongest negotiating tactic you have is walking away. I was hearing reports the prices they were getting were INSANE because people knew they were on the ropes. There’s quite literally ZERO competent igl options right now hence why Twistzz is taking over. The reality is this. There’s NO immediate IGL and awp options at a fair market price. You don’t wanna break up the core 3 for at least 1 season to keep your quali spot so that’s what saved yekindar. Twistzz has so many options that another season being a star on a lacklustre team for sure results in him leaving so might as well let him try IGL a season. JKS is an upgrade imo. And ultimate is cheap. I’d rather have a season where they underperform and be able to jump on talent as it becomes available then keep making this pseudo super teams that keep failing. The being said -yekindar -ultimate +hooxi +s1mple that roster would be fking insane.

NiKo IGLing Dallas was just a fluke. If we're going to talk about fraud watch, NiKo IGL during that event massive fraud watch. He didn't have to come up with his own strats. All he had to do was recite the strats that hooxi came up with. And with Stewie knowing how to read Karrigan night and die. Also Stewie is an insane mid round caller. G2 definitely lacked a lot when it came to mid rounds. Actually a lot of the T1 teams right now are missing that mid round special element. That Astralis was so fucking powerful for. It's so annoying that people don't respect hooxi that much because of stats. It's like we all ignored/forgot all of the years NiKo had insane roster lineups and couldn't win. He gets hooxi and jks and there was actually some stability there. Competing against teams like FaZe and other lineups. NiKo had insane fragger lineups for YEARS couldn't win. He gets the worst fragging IGL of all time and a mid anchor and they finally start having some success. And it's ALL because of m0nesy and NiKo? Like NiKo didn't already have his choosing with all the best players for years. Reminder STILL COULDN'T WIN MAN. NiKo just needs to get some fucking players that aren't worried about making it to the HLTV top 20 and just want to win. He single handedly derailed malbs career. We aren't taking the depth of this malbs pickup seriously enough. Malbs could've gotten signed to another team and he'd be a top 5 hltv player, we could've gotten highlights. He could've been a star. Now he's going to be a A anchor. Not have much setup for kills and everyone is going to say he's washed. And won't have a career in CS2. This happens to so many players it's insane. They did it to nexa. NA CS has done it to every single up coming talent player... ever. We threw away TenZ cuz he was forced to play bitch roles, while Daps goes lurking with bomb by himself and dies. Daps makes the WORST call in history and some how we just expect TenZ to kill 4 people on the site. While mixwell is whiffing the easiest awp shots. But nope it's all TenZ' fault. Broky, and m0nesy were able to join teams with SEASONED veterans and given time. TenZ had like 2 months to learn how to play Tier 1 teams. On a Tier 1 org with a tier 3 roster.... Daps most overrated IGL/Coach ever. We need people like n0thing to start going into coaching roles etc. Instead all of our best players become twitch streamers.
