I still wash some delicate clothes by hand, as the washing machine can easily ruin them. I still remember how my grandmother used to set aside one day each week for laundry. She would bring out the tubs to the yard, and we would wash a mountain of clothes together. The hardest part was washing the bedding. For that, she would boil water and soak it directly in large pots. It was really hard work, but I loved helping my grandmother🥰 What an unusual fruit! I’m seeing it for the first time. Your arm muscles must be so strong after wringing all that textile 💪 I really enjoy doing my laundry like this when I’m travelling. At home I still have a washing machine (for as long we still live in a house). So I hope I will continue to enjoy it, as it’s such a big time consuming practice. Thank you for sharing 😄💛

As a child, I remember my mother handwashing our items when we moved into our new home. Plumbing was outside the old house they purchased, so we had to do a lot by hand while the well was drilled and the pipes were installed. Thanks for the memory. These days, I still wash some items by hand. I find it therapeutic. I also do a lot of knitting, which is extremely calming. In fact, I will knit tonight after my workday ends. We have beans in our garden. It's lovely growing your own food.
