I mix white vinegar half and half with my fabric softener. It works AMAZING! I even use it on my towels because it doesn’t create build up, it just leaves a clean smell! Body oils are so hard to get out of bed sheets so I add a cup of baking soda diluted in hot water and add two tablespoons of my trusted Dawn dish detergent..it really cuts through the body oils. At our house we hang up 90% of our clothing and I do that as I pull it out of the dryer. The only thing that gets folded is pajamas, underwear and socks. Even shorts get hung with those clip style hangers. Almost never any wrinkles because a load never sits in a basket.😁💕👍

Like laundry stripping? Does that actually work, or is it just the mixture of products that takes the dyes out making it look “dirty” I’m so curious on this because I want to try it for shoes, my husband’s military uniforms and PT clothes 😅 socks too! I just don’t want to ruin anything because as of late a pack of socks costs an arm and a leg 😞

IF .... things get wrinkled, sitting in dryer etc. Hang dry wrinkled clothes on a Hanger on Shower "Curtain" Bar, Turn shower water on HOT, walk away and close the bathroom door, and allow time for the steam of HOT water, to mist out the wrinkles! Turn off HOT Water, and allow the magic to dewrinkle!!!

I love your site and calm voice. I want to share my wrinkle hack. That stripped, pink and white shirt could be de-wrinkled in seconds. Throw the dry shirt into the dryer , spray a couple squirts of plain water into the dryer, above the item(s) and turn on the dryer. Most things will be de-wrinkled in less than a minute. Shake out and see the magic. If the item or a few items tend to lay against the dryer wall, toss in a couple of dryer balls to help them tumble freely. This works for many fabrics. You will find the right amount of water misting (less is more effective) and the seconds or minutes needed ( very few).

Vinegar is most effective in the rinse cycle after detergent has cleaned the clothes. All you need for diy wrinkle releaser is a spray bottle full of water with one teaspoon of fabric softener.

Hi Franny Fisher, I was going to say the same thing, I was checking the comments to see if anyone else said it. I've been doing laundry since 1974. Some of these young people on KZbin advise some stuff that has me either shaking my head, or laughing so hard I snort. I guess the daycare generation didn't get a chance to learn the bare necessities of life. We failed them while trying to give them a better life. Common sense isn't so common anymore. @@vickyandersen8660 Hi! My mom used fabric softener because hanging clothes out on the line can make them very stiff. Crisp sheets are one thing, crisp & crunchy undergarments are another. LOL 🤣 If mother would have known distilled vinegar would work just as well, she would have went for it to save money. We pinched pennies until they squealed for mercy. My husband once said that was his favorite thing about me, I pinched pennies harder than his mother did. His mother pinched pennies until they squealed, I pinched them until they sat up and begged for mercy. You do what you have to do to survive in this world. Unstoppables and similar are ruining our waterways. I wish the obsession with clothes having these artificial perfumes would end. I don’t use softeners except white vinegar, and to me the nicest smell is when clothes are dried outside. I don’t use a tumble dryer as I think it’s expensive and unnecessary. I have cut my cleaning products right down to just koh, white vinegar and dish soap. I use an eco detergent. We all need to get on board with protecting our environment as it’s quickly becoming too late. All these check calls are also leading to far more allergies in both children and adults. My big tip is not to let mount washmore build up like at the start of this video- do at least a load a day and you will keep on top of it.

I always get the same matching scents in the unstoppables. For my sheets and blankets and my husband army uniforms and PTs I use the old spice unstoppables! When everything is dried it smells so fresh! I use dryer balls as well, but just to help fluff things up and help with drying time, but I still use dryer sheets. Dryer sheets help with static and removing pet hair and fuzzies where they dryer balls don’t do that. There are allot of brands that have environment friendly dryer sheets now days. Like method.

American washers are nightmare. I don't know the reason, but I can say that European machines wash clothes 100 times better than the US. I live 25 years in Europe I've never washed anything in my hand even white socks. But in the USA I was my staff in my hand almost every week. It is so hard if someone has a kid. These machines are not able to wash dirt and mark away as European machines do. It’s just draining for 30 min. I sometimes throw folded clothes when I come back from vacation. After the circle is done I see they as still folded. This is ridiculous.
