@@HiistmeMikothealien Well, you’re on an Asian (idk what language it is) video. The title is in the Asian language and just automatically translated by KZbin. It only makes sense for there to be Asian comments on an Asian video. Imagine if you were on an English video, and there were Asian people complaining on why everyone isn’t speaking Asian, and being annoyed by the English comments.
For anyone interested in restoring old stuffed toys like this I recommend removing the stuffing if you have a bit of sewing skill. It's easier and should use less water to wash and rinse just the fabric than if you wash the stuffing too. I'd also avoid using chlorine bleach as it can cause yellowing and weakness to the fabric over time. An oxy cleaner can be used safely though. If the eyes are scuffed there is polish made for plastics, sometimes you can find it for polishing acrylic watch faces, or headlights. If you get headlight polish you just want to make sure that it is abrasive only and not chemical because the chemicals could damage polyester fur.
@ArtByKarenEHaley Жыл бұрын
That is a good point because you can put in fresh stuffing if needed as well
@Just1Nora Жыл бұрын
@@ArtByKarenEHaley Yes, I definitely recommend replacing old stuffing with new, but it's important, especially on very old stuffed toys, to do a little research first and make sure you use the proper stuffing when refilling them. Teddies from Europe from the 1920s are often filled with straw, sawdust, and wood shavings, due to shortages from WWI. Raw washed or combed cotton was too valuable to stuff children's toys with, so they made due with what they could get. Even now there are different grades of poly stuffing. There's the bottom of the barrel stuff you can buy for about $0.97 USD/bag (or it used to be that cheap; I haven't bought any in years), you can rip up quilt batting, or some quilting and upholstery stores will sell various densities as well as poly beads for Beanie Baby type toys, and shredded foam if you want to make a large roll pillow pet. If you've ever had to remove stuffing from a Squishmallow you know exactly how silky and lofty their fibers are giving them the airy and squishy feeling. I have a few of the 16" size Squishmallows that need to be washed, and I don't want to replace the stuffing, but I don't know the best way to wash and dry the stuffing outside of the plush. I have four cats and they have run of the house, so they they'd be in it in no time...

Much obliged! I've got some stuffed animals that my mom mailed to me in a plastic bag. Unfortunately it was humid when she bagged them, and it dipped below freezing while they were in the mail, causing some condensation to form. They aren't *moldy* but they don't smell right, so I'm planning to try and deep clean them as safely as possible soon. I considered replacing the stuffing, but the stuffing is a part of them to, so I don't feel right about throwing it out, so I'll do the best I can with it. I already had some guys from a club I'm in who own an actual freezer stick them in there for a bit, which should have killed off the weaker yeasts anyway (not gonna do much to bacteria unfortunately) which did accomplish something, as they smell different now - still weird, but a weaker and different weird. Since mold is obviously also a concern I acquired a petsafe antimold spray intended for antique fabric furniture, and I figured I'd mix some of that in with the last rinsing for some extra protection. The two oldest toys in the group are about 19 years old, so they're the one's I'm most concerned about.

@ Gwenx did you just compare a human to a plushie? Lol that’s ridiculous. One is a sentient being the other is an inanimate object. Whatever emotional attachment you may or may not have to a human has no effect on its worth, as all lives are inherently valuable. An inanimate objects value is however, based on your personal opinion of it. So no, they are not the same at all.

I remember finding a yellowish brown bear in my husband's storage room. We decided to give him a bath and he turned out to be an ice bear. He too started to become alive while we washed him, complainig about us squeezing the water out of his big head, lol. Plushies have a way of making us feel like kids again, and in a good way, judging from the comments.
