Nice to see you back in our little top of the world park again Mike. Thought you and the kiters might like to know that your videos from there were some of the exhibits that helped our Town of Perry convince the DNR to give our Town a grant to build a public restroom in the park. Hopefully that will make things a lot more fun in the future! - Doug King, Town of Perry

Great to hear Doug. I met Mark from Public Works yesterday and I think I mentioned you as "Ron". Apologies. Love the memorial!

@@MichaelKSherman No worries - I'm sure Mark knew who you meant. I forgot to mention one part of the public restroom story that I think you might get a kick out of. When the Town applied for a Knowles-Nelson Stewardship Program to get the grant for the public restroom, it was a competitive process. We won one of the smaller grants by only a few points. During the evaluation process to get those points the park was rated for "outdoor recreation." The DNR evaluators had all the usual things you might expect on their list of outdoor recreation activities. But kite flying was not one of them. So there were no points for it. But when we submitted "kite flying" as an outdoor recreation activity, along with links to your videos right there in the park, there was a long discussion about that, beginning with: What? Kite flying? Then we said kite flying also qualified as meeting their criteria for "winter sports." There was an even bigger incredulous "WHAT?" So the frozen assets flying videos were very convincing. As of now, outdoor recreation grant funding points can be awarded for kite flying!!!!!!!

Nice to be back at this high open field.. I wished you had some other flyers to join with you. Does the circular paving and seats mark some significant location ?

Hi Carl. They just added that. It's a memorial, with longtime residents names carved in the stones. I hear they'll have the dedication ceremony soon. Yes, need to get Paul Fieber and the gang out there again!

1:50 The Flow Form recovered from what I thought was a total depower! Must have caught the window edge. Did you do that on purpose? Awesome stack of laundry and I love the colors of the Flow Form. I want to say that someone in Alaskiters owns the same one. I don't yet own one of those. Like the dragon inflatable :)

It did go down. Which enabled me to put the fish on. 🐟 Couldn't wrap the line around the carabiners otherwise.

Amy I don't think we have a Flowform in that color scheme. Tim S. has a Fauci and Mega Fish and no one (yet) has an Angel Fish. I do have a small clown fish that has yet to feel the breeze but that's coming real soon (if it stops snowing and we finally get breakup 2023).

How long are your tent stakes and what type of straps do you use? Are they 1 inch in diameter? Thank you, John
@MichaelKSherman6 ай бұрын
Hi John. Stakes are 40in x 1in. And I use 6ft tow straps. Loops at both ends.

Hello sir, i had a question for you, i understand you do this because you love it but is there a market for this? Do you know any business that will fly kites as a decoration for events?
@MichaelKSherman Жыл бұрын
Great question. Look up great American Kites and Events. They essentially contract with municipalities to stage kite shows. Aside from that, it's a hobby, and there are some opportunities to stage displays independently at events.

@@MichaelKSherman thank you for the reply. That means you have never made a monetary transaction off of those displays you do?
