This song and video is really a show of force - mastery of song, dance, and physical fitness. Very few people even could perform this, much as could be said about Meat Loaf's singing, or Michael Jackson's dancing. It's not one of my favorite songs really, but sometimes I watch it because I think the video was recorded as a "shock and awe" demonstration that it's possible to train to perform like this, and it made its point.

My mother has a university degree in music and teaches it, and performs, so I have seen the scale of technical knowledge behind things like this. The chords, duration of different notes, really the math behind music is pretty intense. I work in engineering and software, and would never claim to know more than a talented musician.
