Decades ago, especially the 70's, top 40 radio stations were known for speeding up turntables. Putting a 45 single on a turntable spinning at around 47 RPM, so they could fit in more commercials, so they could get paid and stay in business.

I think this was simply from a PAL (UK) copy, rather than NTSC (US) version, hence 4% faster. We here in PAL land got so used to things being sped up that it can be *really* jarring to watch American TV in its native NTSC format and hear all the voices and music at the correct pitch!

+Aya Sherlocat "Automan" was one of the less-appreciated computer-related syfy series that popped-up amidst the techno-fascination had during the early/mid-80's. Sadly, it was only a one-season wonder... but It certainly set the bar as to how advanced & realistic CGI can be, so to speak. If only the CGI used in movies & TV could make such a leap over the uncanny valley....
