Stunning subtle and clarion singing in equal measure. This aria is a bit of a nightmare for the voice. The composition is all over the place. Claycomb is and has always been a real coloratura soprano never cheating the audience. Delivering the goods, managing to take some risks and adding in some crazy drama to boot. Brava.

Literally everything I would sit in an opera theatre hoping to see, hear and experience. Naysayers begone, this is brave, beautiful and beyond. If you can do better, do it. If not, step aside and let these hundred or more humans prove our place on a planet that could well do without us. Bravi tutti, remarkable music makers, thank you from a weary heart who loved being reminded why I’m here xxx
