I just came across an article about a breakthrough in brain cryopreservation, regaining functionality after rewarming. Thanks to both of you for working on one of if not the most beneficial factor when it comes to human quality of life enhancement that is....biotechnology. Thank you S3 for the great interview.

Did she say when she was 12 she moved back to the US to work at a longevity lab!!! What were you doing at 12?
@NatanLawson5 ай бұрын
From Wikipedia: "At age 8, Deming became interested in the biology of aging, and at age 12 she joined the lab of Cynthia Kenyon at the University of California, San Francisco. Kenyon successfully increased the lifespan of the worm C. elegans by a factor of ten through genetic engineering. Deming was accepted to MIT at age 14 and studied physics, but later dropped out to accept the $100,000 Thiel Fellowship and start a venture capital firm."

Umm she volunteered in a longevity lab actually. I'd check if that was the reason she moved to the US.

What's the difference between Karolina Protsenko & Laura Deming as teenage prodigies? Karolina can really play the violin well, while Laura wasn't really venture-capitalizing any companies.

An ex-girlfriend of mine named Lisa is cryopreserved at Alcor in Scottsdale, AZ. If she's revivable in a technologically competent Future World, I hope she's not taken advantage of by, say, being "battle-angeled."

That's the wildest ex girlfriends end story I have ever heard and likely exists.

Deming is just another Silicon Valley adventuress on the make, like Elizabeth Holmes or Nicole Shanahan. She probably has "Marry a Silicon Valley billionaire, then cash out in a divorce," on her to-do list.

Bro have you even glanced at her wikipedia page. She's been doing impressive stuff since she was literally 12. Like, at least back up your mean comment with some evidence.

I have over 30 years' experience in the cryonics community, if you could call it that, and I'm wondering if Laura is going to follow the pattern of other childless female cryonicists I've known by freezing her cats when these animals die. Yeah, this sounds like I'm making it up, but these cryonicist spinsters post on their social media accounts about how they've cryopreserved their dead cats.

Outspoken Atheist Penn Jillette once said; “I’ve always said that I don’t respect people who don’t proselytize. I don’t respect that at all. If you believe that there’s a heaven and a hell, and people could be going to hell or not getting eternal life, and you think that it’s not really worth telling them this because it would make it socially awkward-and atheists who think people shouldn’t proselytize and who say just leave me along and keep your religion to yourself-how much do you have to hate somebody to not proselytize? How much do you have to hate somebody to believe everlasting life is possible and not tell them that? “I mean, if I believed, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that a truck was coming at you, and you didn’t believe that truck was bearing down on you, there is a certain point where I tackle you. And this is more important than that.” You can’t freeze your way past Judgement. Www Bible ca

His position is very rational. I am not sure how you went from that to "You can’t freeze your way past Judgement". Of course you can. There is no "Judgement". If you were Hindu, you would say "You can'y freeze your way past Karma/reincarnation". Bronze age myths are that ... myths.
