I personally think he does it on purpose to create artificial funny moments. The shaft curving left, and shiver and quift might have been genuine, but I don’t trust that by C3 they aren’t trying to force it for the funny clips.

He has said himself during one of these moments it’s more like to him, when he’s writing details for his world, nothing strikes him as strange until he describes a detail in front of Laura and the others.

Seriously, that's the fun part about going through all three campaigns, seeing how they play wildly different characters but at the same time fighting their own inner urges. Laura's inner-12-year-old humor would work with Vex's snark or Jester's immaturity and openness about all things sexual, but Imogen's nice and proper horse girl persona is wildly different from Laura's and you see her struggle with containing herself sometimes.
