As a quilter I see a lot of fabric that isn’t used, but the finished product is fantastic! I love how you showed how to iron all the pieces of fabric to the steam a seam. I think the addition of all the flowers made this a fantastic quilt. Since I am about to try to do one of these I really appreciate all the details you shared. Thanks 😊

Do you have videos that show how you stitch over your collage and do your needles get gummed up from sewing over the sticky fabric between? Do you zigzag over seams?

Yes I do check out my channel. I have a video on how I longarm it. Yes your needle will get gummed up.

My question is what do you do with the Fabric Ease, does it become permanent part of the quilt when we steam iron? Are we supposed to take it off after that?

It becomes part of the quilt. It’s very thin. You won’t notice it

So much fabric ironed to steam a seam ,,, do you need that much fabric? Wow! Looking forward to how you do this!

It is a lot of fabric. The background fabrics get used but the flowers you fussy cut so you do waste a lot of fabric

I have not made a collage quilt. Do you think I should find a class - or are the directions and youtube videos enough? Is there a collage quilt that you recommend for the first one? Thanks so much!
@sassyquilting83253 жыл бұрын
I know lots of people teach collage quilting classes. Maybe you can check at fiberworks-heine.com. I’m only showing the technique I use for collage quilts. Laura Heine might teach a different method. Classes won’t hurt tho.

This sounds like a dumbish question? I have looked online but it's not clear to me: does the tracing paper get sewn right into the quilt? I have my supplies and ready to go.... I am starting with a different Laura Heine from a supplier called The Guardian. Thank you!

I'm not sure about the Pattern Ease. You end up placing the fabric on it and it stays on the quilt after you layer it for quilting? So the appliqué sheet on top of the pattern ease then a layer of batting, then the back fabric? Thanks Much and Lovely Demo!!! C

Bonjour.
