Absolutely, austerity is the same as shrinking the economy. Every salary earner puts with IT NIC VAT etc about 38% of this into the Exchequer. The services they buy provides jobs for others to in turn pay another 38%. After 14 years of austerity it is no wonder taxation is as high as 1945.

A control loop only works if using the control reduces the target., The control is higher interest rates.. if you include anything in the target which goes up with interests rates , you expose the myth that interest rates control inflation..
