I think the highest accolade an actor can receive is from other great actors. Such is the case with Rowlands. I was introduced to her when I first saw "Gloria" in 1980, and I've been mesmerized every since. I think Laura Linney described here perfectly when she said, "this is the quality of ferocity and grace, combined." But I think her greatest gift was to show us, up there on the screen for all to see, what the act of simply being human is all about. I just discovered that she died only one week ago, and somehow it felt as though I had lost a dear friend. RIP, Gena Rowlands.

Love Laura Linney! Great speech with the exception of one thing....including Jennifer Lawrence among the list of great actresses. Jennifer Lawrence is a mediocre actress at best.
