It's so beautiful to read these comments from women all over the world who grew up with Laura Marling, listening to her songs and relating to her lyrics throughout the years. I discovered Laura Marling in 2009 when I was 16 yo, and I was able to follow all her album releases since "I speak because I can"... from a teenager to a 28 yo woman, I feel like Laura Marling has been singing my life's soundtrack. Thank you, Laura, from the bottom of my heart. Life was not sweet all the time, but I felt I had a friend holding my hand and singing to me on good and bad moments. ❤️

That is so relatable! I first discovered Laura when I was around 14 and I'm almost 18 now. She is one of the few artists that always seem to get to you and whose music is always there for you to seek comfort in regardless of what period you are going through. I could not have imagined going through my teenage without artists like her, Keaton Henson and Birdy and I'm glad that there are people around my age who have had similar experiences!!

You took out that money That your Momma had saved She told me she kept it For running away Oh my Fortunes can change You've picked up some tricks That you learnt on your way For fear you'd be lonely If you never changed Oh my You lost your faith We landed on rocks And that's partly to blame We wandered the landscape In this unbearable pain Oh my Your fortune can change At least we agree That we've wasted our time We'll give up the hope That we'll meet down the line Better off measured In coffee, and wine I think on it fondly Now the truth can be told Some love is ancient And it lives on in your soul A fortune that never grows old You spent all that money That your Momma had saved Told me she kept it For running away Never quite found the right way to say I'm sorry my darling My mind it has been changed Release me From this unbearable pain And so ends the story I had hoped to change I had to release us From this unbearable pain And promise We won't come here again
