Thanks for sharing your great color combos. What are your favorite paint brands to make your spilt cakes?
@fairyfox5 жыл бұрын
I like tag- it is a very useable brand. There are so many to choose from, though, and some colors call to me from other brands- so I have some I order from all kinds- but the base of my kit is tag.

I should do one! I have them on a couple designs so they pop up here and there- but a flower class or simply rose class would be awesome.

Awesome stuff, thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience with us. If I may ask, how do you prepare the face paint before cutting/slicing them up? I am also using TAG but mine are too hard for some reason (too cold?) and therefore they crumble as soon as the knife goes in or when I try to pick them up after cutting. I tried to put them under the sun to melt/soften the paints; it helped a little bit, the top layer was a little bit softer but not all the way to the bottom so they still crumble. Do you have any advice on how to make the paints soft enough to be cut? Thank you very much and I look forward to your next video!
@fairyfox4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The age of your paint can make a difference. But Yellow will always crumble. sometimes taking the paint out of the case and then cutting it works better. I also use a pallet knife- the thinner the blade the better. I hope that helps!

@@fairyfox Thank you for the advice Laura. I purchased my face paints just recently but obviously I have no way to find out how long they have been sitting on the shelf at the store... I finally decided to spray the paints a couple of times to make them wet, closed the lids back up, cover the containers with a garbage bag and let them sit in the sun for a few hours. Most of them became more malleable except for a few especially yellow and purple... so once again thank you and please stay safe.

Hi Ana, Thank you for letting me know! That is so kind. I will be offering them on my etsy shop soon. I think international people have been struggling to find them, so I am going to see what I can do. Check Fairy Fox Design on etsy in a couple weeks. (right now you won't find anything) I hope that helps!

Hi , do you make your own split cakes which you are talking about here ?
@fairyfox5 жыл бұрын
Yes I do. It lets me have more control over what is included.
@blonde2thebone5 жыл бұрын
are you making these one strokes, yourself... OR, can they be bought? And, if so... what are their names. Additionally, if they are purchased, do they fit in the container that you first introduced or do you have to put them out and push them in as taught in other videos???? (guess you can tell that I am new to this...) your video was AWESOME!! thank you.

Can you show a video on how you make the one strokes. I heard insurance doesn't cover paints if they are repotted.
@fairyfox4 жыл бұрын
This is a good question. I don't know of anyone who has had a claim on their insurance, but I know we love to talk about what it will and won't cover. I feel like I want insurance for something like a kid falling out of my chair, more than for a skin reaction anyway. What liability you want protection from is a personal question, so feel free to find your own peace with what to do- I do have an older video on my channel that shows how I repot- feel free to check that out.

These are water proof colors , bcoz you close it quickly after took in brush .
@fairyfox5 жыл бұрын
no- they are not- I just use minimal amounts of water on my brush- and feel like water control is one of the biggest keys to face painting well ( like centering clay if you are throwing ceramics) If they get to much water they become soupy just like any, but I have struggled with too little water and having paint dry out and crack- It is a balancing act for sure.
