My Face Paint Kit fits inside a small size sports bag - but is actually so all-inclusive and is actually a cute shoulder style carry on luggage bag...Purple and Jazzy!! We tend to think when you are face painting, that you require so many pieces of equipment, but we need to 'minimalize' and take ONLY what you NEED to use - Your kit Looks the BIZZ!! Love it because of the 'TOOLS of The Face Painting Trade' being placed in a Tool Style Box, is an AWESOME idea!! Lovin' it!!

Thanks for this! I'm finally getting asked to do facepainting again at events after these past few years and I've always had a small kit. Just a bag of essentials, and sometimes I feel swayed when I see other facepainters with a huge kit, but thats not me either.

@@fairyfox Flip Top Bead Organizer by Simply Tidy™ retails for $7 at Michaels. I had to look really hard to find it so I was trying to share.... and I cannot find anything else similar. And the festival art glitter gel is basically in aloe vera gel so if you want to DIY it I use the 97% aloe vera gel as it has the same exact ingredients as the clear base from art factory.

Iris, thank you. I bought the metal case from ACMoore, but have seen it at another craft store as well. It is a nicole brand. It is not the sturdiest of cases- but works so well, until I find something better...

I would love to share all of those things! The water pen is something I use for henna- but glitter tattoos are a fad that came and went- but they have there use, so I keep some around. I hope to show them.

Glitter tattoos are still quite popular in the uk, they're more popular with boys though or older kids who don't like having their faces painted. It's fun having that option as it's something different I find, and it's a little quicker than painting 😅

Thanks Laura! I think kits are as individual as the artist and there's no right or wrong, better or worse. If it works for the artist it's perfect! But I still love seeing what others have in their kit, because I'm nosy 😁, and might pick up a clever tip. As usual, the video quality and content is great!

SO true. I have to have a clean kit. Having paint on the outside of cases (starblend dust) or any grime at all drives me CRAZY. Althought I love that our filth sparkles.

I have a secondary bag, which is compact and I place my extras (glitter, laundry bag and anything I do not initially need to do my immediate Face Paint) and any dirty stuff...to be minimalistic is better.

I love bead containters, they are so useful! The tool kit is a basic one from Menards, I have also used and loved the ones they sell at Homedepot, Just remember when choosing a tool kit to balance the weight of the kit (if it is heavy empty....It will kill you once it is full!) With the sturdiness. I hate how a lot of crafty things end up not holding up to lots of use- Tool kits are the best! They are built to last.

Hi Erin, my large are 3/4in and the small are 1/2. I am currently developing a new water system- my favorite one was discontinued. When I have more to share I totally will. I’m working on a small kit for one or two hour parties. How do you show your menu with a small kit?

For small events I just paint whatever people want- so I don't often work on a menu- but one thing I did recently that really worked well, is I printed some 5x7 postcards (think vistaprint) on one side was a random collage of pictures I like to paint (since we dont need prices) and the other side told my story with contact information. I let kids look at them saying "here are some ideas- but you can have whatever you want" then many kids/parents take them home- go marketing!

How did you come up with your new business esa name Fairy Fox Design vs Jacana? Do you have a website and did you have to go through and rename everything?

It's a great question. I relocated from Idaho to Kansas 2 years ago. Jacana was a name I had picked and used for 7 years, and while I loved it, it was hard for people to spell and understand. I went through some bumps renaming, but it was so worth it. I wasnt sure exactly what my new business would be like, so I wanted a "vague" name like studio or design,so if I chose to add new things I could. I love it now, and worth all the hassle, but never want to do it again.

Hi Mina, Great question. I cut them myself and then ease them in and smash them down with the back of a pallet knife. It works great! Let me know if you need help finding cases!

Xochitl- I totally here you. I actually only use two! I have more- but my go tos are one for scales, and a dot one for super heros- the rest just keep those to company. I never had used a menu for birthdays- and then I made a post card that doubles as a menu. It is great because I can let any parent keep one that asks for a card!

Here are my take aways 1. Downsize. I carry so much stuff that it makes my back hurt 2. Develop a marketing postcard. Duh. Why didn't I think of that sooner. 3. Maybe I need something on my thumb to keep my brush from slipping when wet And 4. I don't need another brush. At all!
