I've been putting off learning facepainting for over 2 years. I bought a basic beginners kit of around $200, and it's just sitting there. Finally decided to look for tutorials and found yours. They are SOOOO very thorough with clear communication and cover HEAPS. You've done and amazing job...thank you sooo sooo sooo much!!! VERY generous of you!

You are amazing!! These tutes [ALL of them] are so CLEAR & CONCISE & EASY to understand! I had been struggling with how to load my brush & how to do the brush strokes and never knew how much difference different BRUSHES actually made! I have been a newbie & stayed a newbie for 2 years using wrong slow bad techniques! I only recently decided to give this another go & try again to get good results fast. Your quality vids & channel has helped me so much- I now feel more confident and can get out and about and use these AMAZING techniques that you so eloquently have displayed...I'm practising on my arm all the time now - I'm so CHUFFED with what I am now able to do! You've unlocked the missing piece of the puzzle for me! ...THANK YOU SO MUCH SOPHIE! Faery Dusted Blessings

Bakki Boo Wow, what a wonderful message to read! You are so kind and I appreciate your feedback very much! I'm happy that my video motivated you to continue painting and helped you to improve your skills. That was super helpful for brand new beginner like myself. I just got done trying to make a simple heart using a one stroke and it was way harder than I thought it would be. This kind of breakdown of the brushes in combination with various strokes is going to be something I keep coming back to. Thank you so much!
@SophiesTipps4 жыл бұрын
Glad it was helpful! It's true, at the beginning it seems like the brush doesn't want to "obey" to the hand but trust me, with practice it becomes a little bit easier each time and one day you will do it without even thinking about it! Keep up the practice and have fun! And thank you for the lovely comment.

SuperInspire Pierce The technique is slightly different because - I'm sure you've noticed - the skin doesn't "react" the same way as paper or canvas do. However, if you know and like to draw already, I am sure that the transition into face and body painting will be easy for you. It's a lot of fun to use one's creativity in many different ways. Keep it up and have fun!

Thanks so much for sharing your experience. I've only had a couple of face painting events and so far I have enjoyed it immensely. Such great info and tips! I will definitely print and laminate a practice face. Also I never considered calligraphy as a needed skill, but teenagers would love that. Maybe you could elaborate on that, and other lettering styles? What about your setup during events? I feel like my table ends up so disorganized after only a few kids:/ Again, thanks for sharing!
@SophiesTipps10 жыл бұрын
Lily Torres Thanks so much for your feedback, I'm glad you find some of my tips useful :) Yes the teens love to have names or initials written on their arm but unfortunately I'm not very good at it.... There are a few videos on KZbin where the basic lettering style is explained. Some other face painters (like Wiser for example) do really great stuff in graffiti style and I always thought this would be something I would want to learn at some point... There are so many great things being done all over the place, it's hard to keep up :) However, I personally don't think I am good enough to do a tutorial on that... As far as my face painting table and setup is concerned, I will do a tutorial where I show and explain everything I carry around and how I organise it but I have a few other videos in the pipeline before that one. But don't worry, it's definitely coming! Thanks again and have fun painting!

I recently started face painting and looking for ideas and tips. Your video was really helpful. I want to watch all of your videos. Just a question, when using different colours, do I need to use different brushes? (If I am using a square brush or any other type). Rinsing and using the same brush takes much time. Please advise me.

Awesome! Thank you for your feedback! That's a good question and the answer would depend from one face painter to the another but personally I have about 4 brushes of my favorite sizes (1/4 inch square, #3 round, 08 petal, #1 round and a few more). I do not have one brush for each color, this would be crazy and not possible to handle on the job. However, I try to keep one of each brush for white only, one for midtones (light blues, yellows, pinks, greens, ...), one for black, only and one for darks (dark blue, purples, reds, ...). Brushes are quickly rinced and the color comes off in seconds in water so the change of color is not difficult. However, I find it important to dedicate at least one round brush to black and one to black exclusively. These two colors are anyway the colors most often used for line work. When it comes to sponges, I have one sponge per color "sitting" withing the color cake it belongs to. I will try soon to do a video showing my kit because I get many questions regarding my organisation and I think it will be easier to show it than to try to explain it in writing. I hoped this helped in the meantime. Take care! ☺️

Sorry, I don't know. But if you want, you can make them yourself. I did a video on that, here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jHyVhZeqateXras
