You have very quickly became one of my favourite channels !!! No idea how you find time to think up ideas, plan them , build them , film it all , edit it , post it , read comments, answer comments, put drills through your thumb ;-) . . assume you still have to eat, sleep, shit and shower . . . DO YOU HAVE A CLONE ?

haha, thanks max! it´s great when people realize how much work it really is to make a video (or 2) every week. i try to have one day per week where i take at least half the day off to do something non work-related. but the rest of the week is pretty much non-stop working. but since this is my business and exactly what i want to do...i absolutly love it :)

I'm loving the shirt! ; ) Very awesome project Laura. I know you made it for a display but this is a good project to get familiar with the process on how to build a door in general. I have making a door on my to-do list so I'll make a small one first to practice I think.
@laurakampf
@laurakampf 8 жыл бұрын
that´s a good idea i think...also i find it´s a lot harder to be precise with these smaller builds...if you can get the joints tight on a small object...the bigger version will be a walk in the park :) can´t wait for that video! and i LOVE the shirt :) thanks, again!

Living as I do in the very heart of Texas (Austin) I love seeing you in that teeshirt. Yay, April! I understand why you’re not making stickers anymore, but I have to say, every time I watch Matt Cremona’s weekly updates, your sticker on the wall behind him seems to leap out at me. Great design is its own reward. Hope the thumb heals. My girlfriend is not the least bit jealous about how I moon over your videos. It’s all about the artistry.

Hi Laura for first time building a door you are the best . Love how it come out , don't know if you did it on purpose , but if you didn't .off course depends on material availability the grain on door panels should run like the tree grows , that is a rule of thumb . Not a criticism more a tip , like always love the video ! Your Brazilian American Fan .

Great job Laura Kampf. My first time visiting. Just read about you in a comment on one of Frank Howarth's vids so I thought I'd come over here and check out this Laura gal. Really good work. My only problem is this: I noticed that you stained the panels "before" you placed them into their respective frames rather than waiting for the project to be finished before staining. This way the entire panel is covered... kudos to you. But then, you drilled out and installed the hinges "before" staining the frames. I would have thought that you'd stain after drilling and then install the hinges last. Maybe it's just me. At any rate, it's a small detail. Great job Laura. Really good videography too. Look forward to seeing more... and yes, I am subscribing to your channel !

I really love the idea of using wooden pins. Watched a video of John Zhu, who also used wooden pins. As Matthias Wandel showed once the wood is weaker as glued joints and so it is even weaker than screws. Since the entire door is made out of wood adding screws does not increase the durability and therefore adding wooden pins does not reduce the strength of joints. Very nice door!

SOOOOO love your work. It seems many are concerned about your thumb. For future reference, if that happens again, take a very small drill bit, clamp it in pin vise and carefully drill a small hole to relieve the blood, will heal and not look nearly so bad. Should also save the nail. Thanks for all your wonderful work.
