I appreciate you so much, Laura! It feels good to now be able to say that I can see my confidence growing so much over the past month, after performing my first paid jobs for headshots, outdoor family photography and a birthday event (same client). And from the birthday event, I have 3 leads (1 for recurring photos for a school teacher’s class events), and 1 confirmed family photo shoot in 2 weeks. And after the first family photoshoot, I reviewed my images and said to myself, “Yes, I can do this. I’m a photographer”. It felt SO good! Then when my client reacted so positively to my work and was shocked that SHE could look so good in photos and immediately replaced her Facebook profile with one of my images…wow…I could not stop smiling. I cannot thank you enough for constantly pouring into this community. I’m looking forward to continuing to try pin down what is my passion niche…I’m trying some things with product photography, and another client who wants a simple drone video fly-over of their auto dealership…but we’ll see what primary niche I land in. Yessssss! I’m so glad I reminded you of the importance of this. 🥰 I know it is hard at the beginning. I used to hide behind my creative self portraits which is not the same as showing my face on KZbin. 😄 But it gets easier, I promise! With social media, clients now are expecting to get to know you a bit beforehand. So slowly slowly and step by step, you can start breaking the ice. I will do videos about this to help everyone who is just starting with social media. 🥰

Hey Laura, as an introvert I really agree and resonate with you. English is my third language and doing YT videos in English is hard, specially in the beginning (next to talking to a camera :D). Wonderful and motivating video. I started with landscape photography, it's something I love very much, but over time I decided that I wanted to try other photography. I had heard at the beginning that it's good for a person to find a style and focus on it, because it's hard to do everything. I agree with that, but on the other hand I don't. If something challenges me and I want to do it, why not. For two days I've been shooting some products for a company on a white background. Even though I knew what kind of things it was, it turned out to be very challenging. The good thing about me is that I always open KZbin and just when I think I understand something, I accidentally came across a clip that later turned out to be very relevant. If I hadn't watched it, I probably would have failed the task or would have procrastinated until I found a solution. But when I put this into practice and saw that it worked, the joy I worked with was enormous. And now I find this wonderful video that further motivates me. I want to work more with what I love and I will follow the channel. Greetings from Bulgaria

I like your energy and it’s motivating but I think it’s almost impossible these days to become a professional photographer because let’s be honest there are tons of very good hobby photographers out there that love to work for free. They approach everyone even hobby models feel like superstars because they get 20 requests from these photographers and small businesses and even actors that are not famous at all they don’t wanna spend any money on photographers, they all have some friends with good photography skills they all have their iPhones they all think the quality is sufficient … I think that’s just the truth and people say these are the golden times because we have the chance to use social media and so forth but the truth is that the cameras are so fantastic these days and the knowledge that you need is very little in comparison to the old times when you had to shoot 10,000 photos with analog film in order to become a decent photographer. Now you see instantly on the camera what you’ve got and you can do very decent portraits even with the new iPhone, so yes you can still earn money if you have a big name and working for the companies the big brands, but the market is just dead for the rest I guess
