Very helpful video. I’ve wanted to do this for ages and you’ve made it look super simple. Can’t wait to make a windchime for my garden with shells I’ve saved up over the years. Thanks again!

Sounds like a great project! Remember to practice on broken shells first!

Thanks for a straight forward way to drill shells. Also the comment about drill speed useful

This was very helpful! Appreciate your comments re: not needing to submerge the shell in water, and the drill bit size. I'm planning to make a shell garland for Christmas. If you have suggestions about how best to place/hang the shells on the garland, and painting, I'd welcome them!

If you want to paint them I would use acrylic paint. I make a similar garland in my book Boho Chic Jewelry but I solder the shells I do not drill them in that project. Have fun!

Very useful video. What kind of bit did you use, for wall or for wood? Thank you.

I am trying to drill a hole through a very small operculum. An operculum is the little door that some shells use to close themselves into the shell.
