Yes, having a narcissistic parent is gut-wrenching. You love them and yearn/crave for their love and approval but at every turn you experience and witness evil and pain at the very hands that are meant to nurture and protect. The minute you believe they mean you no harm-you must have misunderstood or deserved it in some way-they slam you again. It is torture.
