The hubs and I will be married for 9 years next week. We just celebrated 18months sober together a few weeks ago. We enjoy watching you, Stephen and your family and seeing it is possible and it is a much much much more beautiful life than what we were on our way to having. Our rock bottom was more emotional too. Ohh sweet Laura….. you made me cry during this entire video. I am a recovering Heroin addict. I got pregnant with my y son and that was enough purpose for my life. I got into rehab, started a relationship with the lord, and I started seeing that my life was important. Every day I thank God for helping me stay sober, every single day I take it one day at a time. I was a horrible person before may 21st, 2018. I didn’t care about anyone or anything let alone myself. I did not want my children to see me do what I watched my parents do. Smoke crack on the couches until I was old enough to smoke with them (at 15) shooting up H at 15 years old. I was a baby living an adult’s life. I had no business there. I wanted better for my babies. They will never watch their parents so drugs, they will never have to breathe for their parents and hope they wake up, NEVER! Your an inspiration. YAY... Happy Birthday!! SOBRIETY ROCKS!! I know because I have over 14 1/2 years myself. The obsession to use truly does go away. My son was my motivation in the very beginning, now I do it for me as well. I have actually had the absolute worst living hell and this was all in sobriety. It didn’t get easier for me but I simply learned how to cope without using and I have become much stronger as a result. To drink is to die, to drink is never going to ever be an option for me.
