I am one of those who enjoys ironing. I iron my sheets because it's a little luxury for me when I go to bed. I think this would make all those tasks easier and even more enjoyable! thanks for the video.

Truly a joy to use. I can press many layers at once so you’d love the finished look. We have a link to view or look for a local dealer.

LOL. “I’m more of a piecer!” In more ways than you think Lady! You bring “piece” to all of us with your tutorials. My moments of Zen are spent with you! Thank you!

I am one who does not mind ironing/pressing. It was a normal part of Mom’s household chores when I was little. I felt pretty grown up when she took me to the ironing board and showed me how to do some of the simple pieces like hankies and napkins. Mind you, her iron, though electric, was kind of a heavy appliance for a youngster of 5 years old. This system looks like a dream! Probably too big and a bit expensive for the space and resources I have just now. It’s going on the boat to Someday I’ll …hehehehe

Would be a great ironing system if I could afford it. Your block looks so perfect when you ironed it. Thanks for video

The iron if for sure high end and I sure wish we could get those results with less $. But it does not mean one can’t be a great quilter without it. I liken it to my higher price machine and truly I would buy less machine and more iron for the work I do.

$2200.00 though...I am a piecer and a quilter because I can't afford to send my quilts out. I will say though I made my own ironing board with a full sheet of great birch that was given to me. It sits on 2 long tables that are easy to adjust and I also made a cutting table that sits under my ironing board and all I have to do is lift up my ironing board and tadaa. I was given 2 sheets of birch from work so I made something for my sewing room ❤❤😊

Looks like a Great Steam Iron system. I have had the Pleasure of Learning from Kaye England in Wisconsin. Still have two Quilts I made from Her Classes in Oconomowoc Wisconsin. Glad to see Kaye Lovely as ever.

Hi, I have inherited a Laura Star system from my Dad who sadly died recently. It is an old model, but works superbly. There are buttons ( not sure if it’s 1 or 2. It appears that hot air pumps up through the board. I don’t see any steam though. Can you help with user instructions. I would be very grateful. I don’t quilt but love to sew, so it will be a blessing.

Go watch a KZbin on the iron. You can also call their 800# for more help. Could be it needs cleaning but their videos are great

The antique quilt is really interesting, have you mimicked this pattern? The little bit showing looks like it would be a fun quilt to make. Thank you for the information regarding this iron. I have been looking for one. I use a lot of clappers and fortunately I have a husband who can make them for me in all sorts of sizes.

HI Kaye! I recently bought a Laurastar Lift 1980. I decided on this one over the full system because I like to piece as well as quilt on my longarm. I thought the portability would be a plus - being able to take it from my ironing board to my longarm. I have had mine for a few weeks now and I'm not sure I made the right choice. When I use mine I find that my ironing board pad is soaked (I have tried it on both my 350lb Reliable and also a Longboard) and the underneath of my board is dripping with condensation. My carpet even gets pretty wet. I am wondering if the fan on the full system actually does more than just poof the fabric up or pull it down - perhaps it disapates the moisture and without that fan system the Lift has issues. I contacted Laurastar directly and talked to both a technician and the US Sales Manager and they tell me that they have never heard of this, even though I have talked to a few new owners recently that are having the same problem. I am wondering if you ever have noticed condensation under your ironing board. I absolutely love the iron and how flat my piecing is. I have even been ironing my sheets and for once I actually love ironing my husband's shirts. But I don't want my ironing board to rust and I don't want damp carpet rotting the subfloor. I'm wondering if I need to add a dehumidifier and/or fan, or if I have a bad iron.

I’ve never owned a lift and have many friends that have one and I’ve not heard that as an issue. I have the board and have zero issue with that problem. My only question is are you cleaning regularly. If I’m a tad slow in cleaning my tank I would likely have more moisture as I’m not getting the total control. But you’re doing the right thing by asking and it should not do that. Maybe take some photos for more clarity on the issue.

@@KayeEngland Wow - thanks so much for the quick response! Since it is brand new, I have only used it for probably less than than 24 combined hours. So I don't think it needs to be cleaned yet. I told them I would take some photos which I did today and also they wanted me to try with my wool mat. So did that this afternoon and it is pretty soggy. It goes through to ironing board cover/mat and still have condensation below. I am using bursts one direction and then dry ironing back over. I doubt Laurastar would intend this to be happening.
