Someone has probably said this already but with the dress it is so with the warp and weft thread so when for example it is bent on the horizontal one colour of thread will be visible and on the vertical it will be opposite

About the color shifting dress, it’s called “mulit-chrome.” I’ve seen it in specially effect nail polishes the most, Holo Taco has a whole collection of multichromes. Either way, the shift is very much intentional
