24:25 i genuinely feel like the boxy shape was on purpose considering the backstory of the creator how she wanted to create clothing different from what the media pushes on us. I'm definitely not trying to dictate how you feel about it but i think you absolutely rock the vibe of the dress! there's no reason we shouldn't play around with our shapes and silhouettes every now and then. And although that sort of experimenting would take a lot of confidence, the confidence is always the statement piece of any clothing you can wear

And to be honest I thought it looked great! I also struggle with my upper body bc I think I have wide shoulders and I didn't think it looked bad on her at all!

This! I think there is still shape, in the form of the smaller flowers around the waist, in contrast to the larger granny squares on the top and bottom, to create an hourglass idea - but the emphasis is on the dress doing the work, not the body. I also love that the straps can be on or off the shoulder, which does change up the silhouette. I thought she looked fabulous and I absolutely agree with you that the backstory of the creator has played a role here - and it's a really creative and body positive role 💖

As somebody who crochets i might be able to sorta answer your question. Depending on how fast you are each square on that dress takes 5-10 minutes. They are called granny squares... Lets say that dress had 50 granny squares it would take already over an hour. You have to spray them with water and block them. wait to dry. takes up to an hour+. Then you sew EVERY single square together. Takes days.

As someone with tiny lips, ladies, it doesn't matter. Lip sizes are like eyebrows, the trends for them change. If you *want* thicker lips, 100% do what makes you happy, but if you're someone who doesn't want that but still feel bad about how you don't fit into some trend; don't, you're beautiful. Self confidence shines through more than just very specific parts of yourself, so love yourself. I have a lot of small features, I used to think of myself as a creepy doll. But I've switched that mentality to whimsical pixie or elf. Find your own lil niche and love it. Trust me, it does wonders. And there's more than one type of beauty, never forget that. We're programmed to envy and compare, but it'd be extremely dull if we all looked the same.

Literally NO (so, zero) of the people I asked said they like it. Not even a single bit. As someone who crochets, those prices are valid. As long as the person who made those crochet items were paid well for their work, because there is absolutely no machine that can duplicate crochet. Anything in store that you buy that is crochet is 100% hand made. It's a skill that takes time and effort to perfect. Those things take hours to make! So If you see something hand crocheted in a store that is SUPER cheap, know it's made with slave labor.

One ingredient of the lip stuff is: "Phenoxyethanol, used as a preservative in cosmetic products and also as a stabilizer in perfumes and soaps. I was looking for this comment! I agree completely 👍 The eco statement felt like it was more "what people want to read", rather than accurate, once we saw the packaging - and that was confirmed when we saw the clothing. That amount of tape is absurd, and natural and/or recycled fabrics are rarely so thin that they're see-through (unless you're stretching them to within an inch of their life, which Kris clearly wasn't) - and Kris felt *everything* was see-through. As someone who sews a lot, that says to me that they're cheap poly-blends, rather than more sustainable fabrics. Cider as a business reads more to me like a group of friends got together to create a cheap fast fashion house, then wrote in the eco statement afterwards when consumers started becoming more aware and fast fashion started becoming less popular due to their poor ethics.

As a crochet artist, those prices are very reasonable! Making things like that dress could take weeks! ❤

As a crocheter, it tickles me to see people who appreciate hand made products and understand it would be more expensive than mass produced products because it takes a lot of effing hours to make them. PS watching this while crocheting an order.

I've been getting ads for Cider for so long but haven't ordered anything because I thought the quality would be crap... glad you confirmed that for me!!
@jojocaitlin85084 ай бұрын
I have, frankly I was shocked when she was reading their about section. They're a fast fashion brand just like shein or fashion nova. Entirely unethical but advertising as if they're a small buisness is just crazy. Oh and the quality is absolutely horrendous in my experience. 😬

i had no problem with the quality lol, and i bought many things from cider....literally bougth a two piece set few days ago and im obsessed

@@miraculerlukanette8202 I mean I'm glad you're satisfied but honestly comparing their stuff to the nice pieces I have or even stuff I've gotten from tj Maxx, their stuff is horrendous. Not to mention they have raised their prices, they aren't worth what you're paying for them.

I love Cider, they have their plus is Cider Curve for those of us who have had it impossible to find comfortable clothes because we are not thin but really tall. Being a girl growing up in the 80's was brutal. Ironically today is my birthday lol. Cider has been a blessing.

7:40 So I checked the ingredients, that thing contains capsaicin, as in, the thing that makes chilis spicy. Don't know how much, but from your reaction, you basically smeared crushed chili seeds on your lips 🙃

I get it considering trying to buy clothes as a bigger person is so difficult because everything from 'typical' plus brands is frumpy, poorly fitting and they think fat people should hide everything with baggy tunics. It's pretty much impossible to buy goth clothes in plus size too :(
