Baker here! I think your cookies are coming out too dry because you are packing the flour in. The most accurate way to get the right amount of flour is to use the spoon for spoon method. Heres how to! : Use a spoon to lightly scoop flour into a measuring cup, preventing packing, and then level off the top with a knife to ensure accurate measurement, rather than directly scooping with the measuring cup itself; this is especially important when measuring flour to avoid dense baked goods. Also for the butter, the cube method is a good idea and just place it in a warm area of the house if possible, you'll know the butter is ready when you can touch it with your finger and it lightly presses in but isnt so soft that it just goes all the way through. Hope this helps! :)

@peachnecctar16588 күн бұрын
@ yeah definitely! That was gonna be my one other recommendation but then I realized not a lot of recipes always do it by weight but it really is so much easier and foul proof! :p

🖤fyi if you can accidently melt your butter but the recipe calls for softened, you can just pop it in the fridge/freezer for a bit til it resolidifies. Butter temp actually makes a huge difference when baking :)

baker here!! love the vlogs! a good baking tip is to check it at least a few mins (2-3 mins, for most cookies) before the recommended recipe bake time. so if it’s 10-12mins, i would typically check at the 8min mark as it depends on how powerful your oven is. hope that helps & merry christmas!❤️

idk what the prices are like in America, but here you can get stand mixers for $75. Obviously it's not going to last as long as a KitchenAid, but if you're not planning on baking a lot, I think it would still be good to have. You don't immediately have to buy the $600-$800 mixer.

A slice of bread in the outer bag you have the brown sugar in method! Moisture makes the bread hard (even a marshmallow I saw in other comments!) when you close the bag, it takes the humidity instead of the brown sugar leaving it soft! also hack for Jeremy, if you get Lauren a stand mix you might get more cookies cause it makes life SO much easier, I wasn't a baker until I got one ahah

Pour the brown sugar out of that package and just into your ziplock and add a slice of white bread to it and just leave it in there. Also the butter could have been cold but as long as you can press your finger into it it’s fine. Melted butter vs softened butter causes a different texture to your cookie. Might want to invest in a brown sugar keeper with a brown sugar bear 🐻 to keep it soft. Happy Baking!

Lmao I was hella scared of how this would turn out when that milk came out. I added milk to my cookies once because I too was thinking this shit is mighty dry… turned my cookies into cake! 😂 Using a flour sifter helps as well as a whisk to break down the dry ingredients! Also probably should have just popped that butter back in the fridge for a minute 😅
