I’m a dog groomer and own a grooming salon and we use those same poop bags. We go through so many so we might as well try to be eco-friendly!

Compostable bags are actually kinda pointless from a sustainability standpoint. The whole point of composting is to provide nutrients back to the Earth instead of letting it go to waste in landfills and generate gas emissions that contribute to global warming. Dog feces cannot be put in compost that is used to grow food because it contains pathogens that are harmful to humans. Instead the better more sustainable option would be bags made out of recycled materials or reusing plastic bags you already have. Now this really only applies if you are throwing them in the trash and not compost that is used to grow food or is through your city. If you are able to compost dog poop properly (ie in a way that it doesn’t get into water supply or soil used to grow food) the compostable bag is still kinda pointless because it would be best to burry it and compost by itself. I applaud that you (and Lauren) are trying to be more aware and I also have a decent supply of that brand right now that I bought before I was more informed (it was on sale and I have a service dog while living in an apartment), but I do plan to look into other options once I run low.
