04:46 ''Gagavuz'' word originally comes from ''Gök + oghuz''

@@sunquake Stop, Gagauz people have nothing to do with Kaykaus. You're insulting Oghuz Turks by saying that. 1. With only cople exceptions no nation or group of people converted to Christianity from Islam in history. 2. Right next to them is the Golden Horde (Tatars) both are Hanafi - Maturidi (Sunni) Muslims + both are Turkic people How come a Hanefi Khagan lets his both cultural and religious brothers be Christians??? 3. In Crusades Turks played both sides, Turcopoles were the mercenary for both Byzantines and Crusading states. When captured in battle, European Nobles would either get ransommed or get enslaved (if they cannot pay the ransom) BUT the Turks would be put to sword by their muslim brothers MAMLUKES. So again? How come Muslim Tatars and their Muslim Khagan, would let their brothers adopt Christianity only couple kilometers away from their territory??? 4. How come 2.000(+?) soldiers change the ethnicity, culture, language of whole region? How come they dont go extinct in a sea of alien cultures and languages for centuries??? Because it was not 2000 something soldiers, but thousands and thousands of Pechenegs and Torkils. Gagauz are the descendants of Pechenegs and Torkils (Uzes) that migrated there after losing a battle to Oghuz Yabgu State and infact adopted Christianity quite early on.

As Turks, we are a Eurasian nation spread across Asia and Europe and we have taken shape according to the geography we go to, I'm also a Yörük Turk and our culture is very similar to the Balkan or Slavic culture and we, as a family, are blond and blue-eyed and we live in the Mediterranean cities of Turkey. And also, tourists who see us think we are Russians, whereas my ancestry is only Turkish.

I am an Uyghur Turkic guy, we used to have a country called Republic of East Turkistan, until China colonized it in 1949. Currently, it is called Xinjiang ("New Territory" in Chinese).

the krymchak and karaims probably descended from khazar turks. they were kipchak and converted judaism. (dont know how)
@GrungeuncleАй бұрын
Thats actually wrong. If you just consider that Karaism branch of Judaism was not even present anywhere outside of Egypt at that time, besides that Khazars were Oghur Turks not Kypchak. So considering Krymchak are both Karaite Jews and speaking a Kypchak language cant really make them descendants of Khazars. Besides the actual Jews in Khazaria were the Radhanites (Mesopotamian Jews) and Parsim (Persian Jews), not the Karaites.

Lauren, you said you wished there was a way to preserve languages other than language apps. There is a band called Otyken that started writing and recorded music to do just that. Based on what I saw in this video they are either Siberian or Northern Siberian Turks that speak a language that will likely die out in the next 50 years or so. They still live primarily by hunting, fishing, and gathering. Their primary source of money has been from harvesting honey from wild bees. That may be different now that they are becoming somewhat popular for their music. It was actually one of their customers that fell in love with their culture and married one of the women who prompted them to start recording music. To get you started I'd suggest 3 songs 1) Altay (this is a collaboration with Ummet Ozcan a Turk from Greece) 2) Storm 3) Belief Reading their Wikipedia page will help have a better appreciation for the group before listening to their music.

we pronouce 'g' but 'ğ'(which is called soft g in our language) is completly silent and you can also use it as a subsitute for k for example 'sigara boreği' 'böreği' is actually 'börek' (sorry for not using punctuations but i don't normally use them in my own language too and for those who didn't understand what language i speak it's turkish turkey or türkiye turkish)

By the way at 6:03 look at Oğuz's 6 son's names... I'll tell the meaning of names at Turkish language(turkey).. BOZOKLAR (Boz- Oklar means Brown Arrows) ; Gün Han (Day Khan), Ay Han (Moon Khan), Yıldız Han (Star Khan).... ÜÇOKLAR (Üç Oklar means ; Three Arrows).. Gök Han (Sky Khan), Dağ Han (Mountain Khan), and Last one is Deniz Han (See Khan) ... :)) Those 6 father is the father of all Oğuz Turk families :))

Boz is a vague old word that could mean brown or grey
@elegrin5170Ай бұрын
@@HOPEfullBoi01 Yes you're right.. Do you know at Turkey Boz-Kurts? They actually are grey wolfs.. I guess you're right.

@@elegrin5170 yeah boz kurt is grey wolf yet boz ayı is brown bear. It's similar to how people can't differentiate cyan from blue in modern times.
@HOPEfullBoi01Ай бұрын
So in modern Turkish boz is usually described as earth/soil/dirt colour (toprak rengi) while the modern words of kahverengi (meaning coffee colour) and gri are used for brown and grey respectively.
