Honestly, I don't get why she cares anyway. She is Canadian, isn't she? So why the hell does she care so much how much immigration is allowed within the EU. That is simply none of her business and has zero impact on Canada (which is free to cherrypick refugees) and the US (which prefers to keep them away in the first place) anyway. But i guess the worst which can happen to those people is that all the gloom predictions about the future of Europe won't come true. They shouldn't worry though. The Great Replacement nonsense is older than some people might think, and it sadly never dies, never mind how often it is proven wrong. That's like the EU which is about to fall apart for decades now.

@Colby I wouldn’t be surprised if there are lots of racist ghost hunters out there but being afraid of the dark isn’t really about race in this sense, its probably more evolutionary biology than anything Lots of predators hunt at night, and we have: poor night-vision, poor hearing and a poor sense of smell to boot. Our ancestors that were more cautious of night-time, were much more likely to survive and reproduce then those who weren’t. That caution is then passed down through ideas or genes to their offspring and in turn that makes them more likely to survive til adulthood and reproduce also. This compounds over 100,000s to 1,000,000 millions of years, so it’s a fairly understandable, almost innate fear for a lot of people I suppose

i just wanna add the funny story when the 'identitäre bewegung' (the german version of generation identity) chartered a boat in 2017 to hinder the work of one ngo which saved refugees in the region. then they had technical problems and couldn't maneuver, so the same ngo they wanted to hinder wanted to help which they declined. after kinda fixing the boat they just ended their mission.
@tomitiustritus66723 жыл бұрын
That story is much longer and much more embarrassing. The oddyssey started with them being stuck in the Suezcanal, for failing to produce the proper paperwork to prove they had the required minimum of qualifyed sailors for the ship. The Identitarians claim this to be fake news. Of course. One week later, they could continue. After that, they got grounded in Famagusta Türkish-Cyprus and had the boats owner and one officer arrested for suspicion of the exact thing they accused SAR ships of, human trafficking, when tipped off authorities found 21 south-east asian individuals on board with sparse documentation. The charges were dropped later, but not before 5 of the Sri-Lankan crew members jumped the ship and requested asylum in Cyprus. It also included them trying to enter a port in Tunisia, which they claimed to be a safe harbour, but they were chased off by angry tunisian fishermen, who learned who that ship was. I've seen pictures of tunisian Fisher Boats with banners reading "No Racists!" blockading C-Star. Then current photos of the C-Star was in the meantime analyzed by experts, who deemed the ship possibly unfit for sailing and the NGO "Hope, not Hate" successfully filed for a Port State Control Inspection with the EU. After reviewing the material the EU issued a "Priority 1" notice for that inspection, meaning that the moment the ship entered a EU port, it would be immediately grounded until inspected and ruled safe for sail. In the meantime, they had the famous engine failure and the SAR coordination centre in Rome ordered Sea Eye to rescue them (procedure with ships in distress. A distress call was never made, but the ship drifting around and warning nearby ships that the C-Star was not under control was taken as one by Rome). Sea Eye was on a patrol for refugee boats at the tims. Sea-Eye helped them repair their engines, although Defend Europe claims they did it themselves. Sea-Eye reinsures that they would even rescue Sellner and Co again, because sea rescue is a duty. But Sea-Eye also criticized Defend Europe for needlessly diverting of one of the already too few SAR ships in the region and possibly being reponsible for the deaths of several people with that delay. It ended with a humiliating denial by maltese authorities for the ship to enter any maltese port. Defend Europe declared the end of their mission the same day. Somewhere in that time!ine, Defend Europe claimed afterwards to have worked with the LCG (libyan militia and self declared coast guard thats heavily implicated in human trafficking) to stop NGOs from human trafficking. The italian catholic newspaper Famiglia Cristiana obtained the audio recording of the radio contact between C-Star and LCG. In it, LCG states no interest in having the C-Star "help" and ordered them to leave libyan waters immediately. All this took place from mid July (17-19) 2017 and 17. August 2017. They made it a mere month before giving up.

Sounds like Lauren's "journalism" is more like "Nancy Drew-Southern and the Mystery of the Movies". Also, she moved to my country, and her worst takes are emboldening already virulent racists. And it's making things hard. I think we've had a trickle through of American Bad Actors moving here to Australia. Which is really bad considering the ongoing issues in places like Sri Lanka, and how that affects refugees (like the Murugappans who need to be taken #HomeToBilo, not back to "immigration detention" or to Sri Lanka).

How is it clarifying at all? He didn't debunk the main argument that NGOs ARE a pull factor, all he demonstrated was that there's way bigger factors, like the civil wars of the countries in question, that make it hard to document the obvious. Not to mention he DELIBERATELY avoided the way more damning pull arguments, namely the free money and how they know once they cross the border, it is practically impossible to ever deport them again, even if they commit acts of terrorism. Because of UN conventions retarded nature.
@Brobese3 жыл бұрын

I'm sorry for the lenght of the comment, but I want to make everyone understand who Matteo Salvini is. I am Italian, I'm a citizen of the country that had that idiot as a minister, he liked quite a lot to go on TV talkshows and to do propaganda on social media instead of going to our Senate and work and as the news here talked way to much about him for two years straigh here I know who i am talking about, as when ever I switched on the TV I had to suffer him. You people abroad might not have a lot of exposure to him (how lucky!). Between 2017 and 2018 he and his party had been under investigation by Italian police for taking 49 milions euros of taxpayers money as reinbursement for political activity, money they could not take. Turns out they have done that but a court sentecend that they had to give them back to the country those money, but with no interest on them in installments in 80 years. At the end of 2018, Gianluca Savoini, a member of Salvini's party Lega Nord (Northern League), and the presindent of the cultural association Lombardia-Russia (Lombardy-Russia), had been caught on tape being in the hall of the Hotel Metropol in Russia with some representive of a big Russian gas company dealing for some financial support from them for the party. Now, you have to know that receiving finacial support from abroad for Italian political parties is illegal, but it wasn't the only thing they talked about. They also talked about a bribe to give to the then Italian Vice-Prime minister, amounting to 65 milions rubles. Back then we had as Prime Minister Antonio Conte,of the Movimento 5 stelle (Fivestars movement) and two vice Prime mininsters: one was Luigi di Maio of the Fivestars movement too, and one from the Lega Nord (Northern League). Who was he? None other than Salvini himself. As we know that Savoini didn't work for Luigi di Maio everyone got quite a good idea of who the Vice-Prime minister could be. Now, you have to know that Savoini and Salvini knew each other. How we know it? After the scandal broke out plenty of photos of Salvini and Savoini acting as friends or at least as peole than knew each other surfaced. Coincidently in the same days Savoini went to the metropol Salvini went to other places in Moscow to speak at right wing conferences. Obviously, at least until thoise photos were shown to the public, they both denied of knowing each other when asked about the whole affair. In 2019 a famous investigative journalism TV program, Report, tracked down many under cover sources of money thet constituted the financial backing of many right wing italian parties. Unsurprisingly, many soucers of wealth were pro far-right Russian businessmen, very supportive of Vladimir Putin and his agenda. You know, the same guy that every time he finds opposition, who oppose him gets thrown in jail on suspitious charges, gets poisoned killed or just disappears. When asked about them by jornalists many polititians of the Lega nord and Fratelli d'Italia (Brothers of Italy) played dumb, and dodged questions. Now Brothers's of Italy is a party of which leader comes from the formations of the Movimento sociale Italiano (Italian Social Movement). Don't be fooled by the name people, they were a far right party founded in 1948 by fascists, formerly in power when Mussolini ruled Italy between 1921 and 1943. Today they are under investigation by authorities, but we will come to that later on. At August 2019, Salvini dropped out of the governament. Why? Simply because he spent the months doing propaganda and electoral tours all over Italy, instead of going to work and do something real by his office in Rome. Official sources from italian authorities say that Salvini as the Ministry of the Interior for a year, did only 12 total days of work in his office. Anyway he did so much propaganda that was convinced that if he decided to step out, the country had to organise a new election, as he desired to be Prime Minister. Our constitution says that if the President of the Republic, a figure, super partes, that sits higher in the hierarchy, but holds none real political power, deems it is necessary, can just appoint another governament if there are the conditions for it and if our both chambers, the House of Representatives and the Senate, approve it. A second Conte governament had been approved soon by both chambers, only this time the League and Salvini were out. So he found himself at the opposition again, but this time because of a wrong, miscalculated political move, Salvini and Fratelli’dItalia spent the whole 2020 and 2021, with a global pandemic going on getting in the way of the governament, and giving air to any possible fake news about immigrants, about the virus, about everything really. They constitute the parties that are the home for no-vaxers and no-maskers. Along side the fascists. With which they have direct ties. But how do we know it? A recent journalist investigation, that lasted 3 years, finds out that both in Fratelli d’Italia and the League there are fascists members. People that throw the fascist salute on the 25 of April, our national holiday that celebrate the liberation from the fascists in WW2 and on the Memorial day, our day when we pay respect to the Holocaust victims. They also organise parties and dinners at Mussolini themed restaurants. It was’t really a surprise, everyone already knew that, it was evident, not a mistery. The investigation shows what many do not want to see. During the investigation they highlighted direct ties of the League with Lealtà Azione, an openly neo-fascist movement. How deep are those ties? Well, it seems that many representitive of the Leage at the EU come from that movement. And it is not all yet. They also found ties with a fascist guy that does the dirty work into the illegal finance support of parties. This guy have been csenteced to two years in jail for open fascist apology of fascism, that is a crime in Italy, and keep contacts with also Brothers of Italy, for whom he launder money they will later use to finance their initiatives. The ties were so deep, that none other than Carlo Fidanza, the Brothers of Italy group leader in the EU parlament is depicted in the video of the investigation, took with an hidden camera, throwing the nazi salute and jocking about Hitler in presence of a Jew person. Some other people tied with Fidanza and into politics as well, jocked about throwing bombs into migrants boats, you know just to do some ''cleansing''. A week after that investigation, so a week ago, a group of no-vaxers leaded by the openly fascist Prty Forza Nuova (New Force) raided a workrs union headquartes. Exactly what fascism did 100 years ago in this country. The aggression had so much impact on the public opinion that now the main Italian political parties advocate for t he dismantle of openly fascist movements. Giorgia meloni, brothers of Italy leader said that ‘’I could see this is an aggression but I cannot reconise the matrix of it’’. Keep in mind that those people were chanting fascists mottos and throwing the fascis salute and the leader of the assault were the leaders of an openly fascist movement, now in actual police custody, so the matrix was pretty evident. Now what do you think is salvini doing right now, apologising for all of those things the journalist found and openly condamnig the assault?. No, obvioulsly, he is strawmannig the left to make himself and his movement appear better, cause he knows , as Giorgia Meloni, that the fascists are a part of their voters, so they cannot throw them under the bus. So this is the kind of guy we are talking about.

Great video! Being Italian I loved the Salvini mentions (it helped this is not his best moment). The guy is horrible. He made things very difficoult for migrants of any kind, did not solved issues, only put more poor people on the streets. He went to power with a pact brtween Lega and 5 stelle, put a puppet prime minister an generally controlled that government. Luckly the summer before the pandemic he pulled off a power grab try, breaking the pact to go for early elections. But the puppet prime minister got some balls and insulted him on parlament then allied with the center left Partito Democratico and made a goverment without him. Now, even if he managed to get back in a emergency "covid government" his political fortunes are descending. Unfortunately there is a thing not mentioned in the video tha really really hurts. The pact with Libia was created by Partito Democratico itself in a way to "prevent Salvini" and show that also the left was for immigration control. And it was renovated in 2020 as you say. This really hurt all the italian left, in my educated opinion.
