Me and my friend used to be close and then one day she told me that she like me, but I didn't feel that way at first. Over time we started to like each other as more than friends, but then for some reason I started pushing her away. I don't think I was ready and I got scared and pushed her away and that kind of threw a wedge between us I think. Moral of the story: time is what you need and yeah you may wish you never dated but, don’t think about the bad say “I’m glad we tried and we might try again” unless it was just toxic then don’t think to try again because it’ll only make things worse.
