The whole hair color thing is mainly for surprise, at least from my understanding of it. There’s a couple hair styles that fan’s wouldn’t expect idols to have or would want them to have that they haven’t got yet. And every comeback always has new styles/colors so whenever idols go on lives, they try their best to cover up their hair to not spoil what they’ll look like. And having it revealed in the music video can be a good big surprise. Though Majority of the time, they accidentally spoil it by forgetting that they’re supposed to hide their hair. Yeah it’s quite a process

I think it's because of concept photos who's not revealed yet. They can't spoil any spoiler for upcoming comeback so they need to hide it. That's why fans knows if the comeback is near kdhdkd and maybe to surprise fans too since some fans wants them to see on different hair color Lol

Tbh the hair colour style thing is really funny to me when it done more casually. Like yeonjun just showed up with blue hair the other day at a Burberry event and then beomgyu showed up on vlive with silver/purple tonned hair and I thought it was so much funnier. Like no one was expecting it and moas just all freaked out on twitter together.

Honestly as someone who has been here since pre-debut seeing TXT growth when it comes to their personality always gets me so happy. At first they would sometimes have their chaotic moments but bc they were still new to cameras and everything they were often awkward and then mainly with Blue Hour era they started to be even more chaotic and showcasing new sides to themselves but 2021 was definitely the year were TXT were different the most compared to years before. And this was in every aspect, such as completely new sounds that they tried, the new type of vocals abilities they showed etc but also with their personality I think 2021 is when they fully showcased their personality and have also grown in that area which makes sense considering their journey in that year but also idk why but the bond between moas and TXT has become a lot stronger and idk if it’s bc it’s been 3 years that we’ve been together or what exactly happened😭Idk how to describe this but if you were a moa since pre-debut/debut until now then you would understand what I mean and if you are a moa who has watched basically 99% of the content then you will also understand😭

The mystery of hair colours I think just help contribute to the hype. Like once it becomes clear that TXT are hiding their hair the fandom goes INSANE trying to figure out what's in store. MOAs will stare at heavily heavily blurred photocard teasers desperate to guess who has what hair colour bc it's content that hasn't been revealed yet. I'm no expert in marketing but lots of people love to play detective and once they find out there is something being hidden that they're not allowed to know, they engage more to find out more. I think it's also just kinda fun especially the way TXT hid their hair before Blue Hour era! Truly iconic imo

I think regarding the hair color, they film/shoot things months in advance, even before the notice of a comeback comes out. so I believe companies want their idols (not just txt does this, but others too) to cover their new hair color/cut so nothing gets spoiled because the hair color/cut gives a clue to what kind of concept the next comeback and photo books will be. Almost like having an important scene of a movie or TV show spoiled before it is aired/released. just my thought on it. :)

For a couple days before GOOD BOY GONE BAD released, Yeonjun hiding his hair so hard with beanie, hat, and all, but after that all it turned out that his hair is just the same color as before he try to hide it, they're love to tease MOAs so much I guess 😭😂

I'm glad you enjoyed all of these shenanigans ^_^ they're just...crazy in the best way. Genuinely acting like a bunch of siblings. There's some pretty fun videos of Yeonjun and Beomgyu being extremely Tom & Jerry esque (personally, my ultimate dream would be a video that's YJ&BG vs SuA&Yoohyeon, because both of those pairs get called Tom & Jerry...for good reason, but there is no such video in the world yet). I also personally greatly enjoy compilations of TXT being soft and nice to each other, but there aren't a ton because they tend to keep that behind the camera. Dolphin cult is very real. The Kpop internet apparently exploded about it at the time. Also, that fancam is genuinely just fun to watch, if you ever wanted to look at it on Patreon (or your own time). There's also at _least_ two videos (probably more but I haven't looked in a while) of Yeonjun/Wooyoung/Changbin because of their friendship, if that sounds interesting.

I just actually genuinely think txt just hides hair colours just to surprise the fans, especially if it was a hair colour or hair style that fans really wanted to see on them. Also it's most of the time that they do this and it marks a new era or that the comeback is possibly a bit sooner than expected. But then again, it's txt that wants to try out different hair colours and wants to thrill moas for it and wait for the actual right time that they wanted the fans to see it. During a radio show, Hueningkai was hiding his blonde hair but it was really obvious and he said he wanted moas to be completely shocked from it when he wants to reveal it last year. But he was kinda disappointed from what I remember because he didn't want it to be revealed that way. He had been hiding the hair colour for 5 months.

Honestly I think in terms of hair colour (and most other things), "spoilers" when it comes to kpop are not really that big of a deal. I really think a lot of it is done on purpose as another way of drumming up interest in the next comeback. By acting like it's a bigger deal and making a big show of trying to hide things, and having idols act like they're breaking rules to give spoilers etc it gives fans more things to talk about and there's more fervor and excitement about the comeback.
