The queen of all shimmer looks. You have helped me so much to be more conscious of makeup purchases as well as come up with more simple and fun looks like these that don’t take 3 hours. Thank you so much!!!

Summer N I agree sometimes eyeshadow can be overwhelming as it takes a bare minimum of 30 mins for me to do a full eye look on top of the time it takes for complexion as well. Knowing how to keep it simple is also a nice thing to do as realistically I can see myself doing this opposed to a cut crease every day

One of my favorite transitions is a shimmer. Its the wet n wild brown/pink/blue that used to be in the comfort zone pallett or zombie blush.

Totally: rules are there to be broken lol
@faycoleman90233 жыл бұрын
Exactly! If you change the brush you use to place the shimmer in your crease it will change the look of the shadow anyway. You can get dimensional looks by using just one shimmer as long as it isn't super glittery or frosty.
@sophiakontogonis57045 жыл бұрын
It took me a lot of years to figure out that my preferences really do not fit into the typical routines of most beauty influencers. I am happy to say I finally got rid of all my foundations and quit trying to use eighteen thousand different shades in an eye look. I also bought a yellow blush and challenge myself to use items in multi function methods on my face. Great content girl!
@jennmorrison40705 жыл бұрын
ugh this comment really spoke to me! i'm so moved by girls breaking beauty rules and i'm super duper proud of you because it's actually really hard to do. i ditched foundation too and it was very freeing! 2020 is our year xo.

I feel you on the eyeshadow thing. What has helped me realise that it’s just unnecessary to create complicated looks using 12 shadows was watching Lisa Eldridge. She uses 3, 4 shadows max. Base, Sculpt, Line/Define and Highlight. And you can apply that to neutral or colourful looks. And if you want to be fancy you can add a shimmer on the inner portion of the lid. Job done. Sometimes I use just one brown shadow to deepen my crease and sculpt my eye and that works fine, too.

I've been doing tons of these looks lately because it's so much easier than using an entire palette! You don't need 5 shadows to make a beautiful look, although you can. When I have 13 minutes to get ready for work I can't be messing with a whole palette!
@thatblondechick5 жыл бұрын
I really find these sorts of tutorials more beneficial than more in depth looks because once I’ve mastered a simple eye look I can then add to it because I’ve got the basic look down pat. Not every makeup look has to have a show stopping eye look. I actually feel I look older the more makeup I wear.

I’ve been doing single shimmer shadow looks for over 20yrs! Happy to see others getting on board 😉 doesn’t need to be overly complicated, 6 colors, different brushes & a cut-crease to be beautiful. Simple can be just as stunning

Finally someone shows an eye look that doesn't have eight shades and twenty minutes! Also any video that I watch the always state that they have to start an eye look with a brown matte in the crease, NO you don't! Makeup can do whatever you want, thank you for making a video showing that you can do a single shimmer look and it will look beautiful.
@MishkaMeshel5 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with you. I don't follow "makeup rules", especially ones created by KZbin and Instagram. Yes, sometimes it's fun to do a million steps but my favourite looks are the ones I create with one or two shadows and takes me less than 5 minutes. I also put shimmer in the crease, I think it looks nice. For years I actually never wore any matte shadow, hated it! LoL
@Tattedgoddess7475 жыл бұрын
I would love to see a second video of this type. Maybe add in a one shadow matte look? Or maybe use two shadows? Just to show you can do amazing things without using 5 shadows.

You and Whitney Hedrick made Black Friday so easy for me. I bought NO MAKE UP or cosmetic products! not out of restriction but y'all took the FOMO out of it all. I have more make up I could ever use and will ever use. ! am convinced that all of these complex make up tutorials we see on You Tube and other socials are looks we will rarely or EVER do IRL!!! making us buy make up that we don't need and buying excessively. This new mindset has also shaped my over all consumer habits. Black Friday was a breeze. Last year I was like a mad person! and for what???

Yes!!!! I feel that with beauty KZbin breaking out and becoming such a big part of my life it did not help me to be more creative with my looks- if anything it stifled my creativity because I was so stuck on the new "rules" that I had been given by all of the gurus. There were times that I felt so overwhelmed by all of the steps that I would get frustrated and not wear any makeup at all. That is NOT who I am and I am sad that I let it become an issue. I enjoy your channel because you manage to keep YOUR OWN preferences and what you know works for you as a part of what you do. And you are always stunning, so Thank you! 😊

Mid tone shadows make wonderful one shadow looks packed on the lid then blended into the crease makes it look like you've used more than one shade. Some don't realize that blended out shimmers can add definition and depth. They also look different than packed on when blended out.

It did actually, I still have so many Clionadh shimmer/duochrome shadows that I haven't used yet because I wasn't sure what to pair them with. And this looks like a pretty easy way, I get it stuck in my head that we have to be all matchy matchy with clothing complimenting makeup shades or picking eyeshadow shades that go together and always darkening it in the outer corner. Sometimes I don't have time for any of it and do nothing, but I also got some more supershock shadows I thought I could use for a 1 and done look too.
