My favourite style books are Cheap Chic (1975) by Caroline Milinaire and Carol Troy, How to Dress for Success (1967) by Edith Head, Sex and the Single girl (1962) Helen Gurley Brown and Parisian Chic (2011) by Ines de la Fressange. They focus more on the philosophy behind dressing so they will always be relevant. Elegance (1964) by Genevieve Antoine Dariaux is also really informative on what is "in good taste" if you rub shoulders with a conservative crowd. For capsule wardrobe/dressing on a budget, Orchids on your budget by Marjorie Hills (1937) has a really lovely chapter. Jennifer L. Scott also wrote a lovely book on keeping a small, concentrated wardrobe.

That last book, I Heart Your Style, is one of my absolute favorites. The category breakdowns are so great, and the graphic at the end that shows how infinitely you can mix types is great! Thanks for another awesome video

hi Lauren, I have a style question. I'm pregnant with my first baby and my life is going to change a lot from working a full time job to being at home with an infant. i don't want to slob around in track pants all day. what are some versatile casual pieces I can use to build a capsule wardrobe for a new mum?

Im having a milestone birthday coming next week, and I am thinking of revamping my wardrobe, I say my style is a mix between Edgy classic and Subtle sexy, although Im told I dont look my age, I want to look for my age, but not old or trying to look too young, what is a nice mix between the stages, I have some ideas, want to see what you would recommend

Hi Lauren! I'm so happy that you made this video! I want to become a stylist but don't know where to start. What books would you suggest for someone wanting to start a personal styling business?

Need to get a few of those books! My fashion question is what style boot goes well with jeans and skirts. I'm 5ft9 with big feet, size 41, and I would love to have some cute versatile ankle boots but I'm clueless. Help! Just to say, loving all your videos 😊

Hey, Lauren :) I love your channel, great job! So, there you get a question: How to mix key pieces from different seasons? Like, a maxi summer dress in mid- autumn etc.

If the 60 year old is comfortable in the leather bustier, she should wear it!! Im so sick of hearing "dress your age"...dress for your PERSONALITY!!

Have you read your favorite style books? Or you just bought them even without reading their names?
