lol we have so many different types of universities in the US, I went to a small university with less than 3,000 people so it is very different than a huge public research university like where she goes, my university didn't have greek life (sororities/fraternities) so there's something for everyone

Yeah I'd love to see like a "sororities for noobs" video one day that explains it all. I don't really get the point. I'm Australian and we don't have them either. I think rush is like the recruitment for newbies though...maybe, I might be wrong about that.

@@pinkmagicali You’re right, Rush is recruiting new members. When there isn’t a global pandemic the sororities throw actual parties where girls who are interested in joining a sorority can go to the different parties and see which sorority would be the best fit for them. The sorority members also get to meet the girls and see which ones they think would be the best fit for them. If those lists match up then the sorority extends a membership bid to the girl.

@@keiraball7591 no! It’s completely optional. It’s whole purpose is to connect with girls in college and learn about friendship. Most sorority houses have 30-40 girls living there and have communal bathrooms

Rush week, more officially known as recruitment week is the period of time when fraternities(male houses) and sororities(female houses) recruit students to their house(ex-alpha phi or tri delta.)

I went through recruitment at ASU, long time ago 😅, but I was so curious how the members were going to get to know the PNM’s. Honestly, they got out easy because being in front of the entire sorority can be so intimidating! And so much sister bonding is done during rush you all might’ve not lucked out in that way.

As a girl in a sorority, I always ask why Alabama and some other southern schools only have the new members all decked out in jerseys while the active sisters just wear dresses. I come from a smaller school and our bid days are themed and everyone gets a bid day shirt according to the theme and we all get decked out. Does it ever make you wish that bid day is something different to you when you see other schools celebrate bid day differently than Alabama?

sororities are like clubs that are all girls. in this videos she is showing the process called "recruitment" where members of these organizations get to talk to potential new members. There are multiple rounds that are meant to narrow down the number of girls who share similar interests and beliefs, so that each sorority can create a good new group of girls to join! Of course this year is a little different since most universities are doing a virtual, rather than in-person meetings.
