I believe Laurent had to create a distinct style from Larry to provide the audience with variety. I always felt that Lau could do the same moves as Larry. However, seeing twins dance alike would have been boring and short lived. Lau's vision and creativity sets him apart from other dancers. I maintain that if any song is played Laurent will give you a great performance. He is my favorite dancer.

It does not escape me that Lau is home at Juste Debolte. He and Larry have come there for so many years and have to a certain extent owned it when they were there. They are legends. I’ve heard complaints about their cockiness, etc. from other dancers during some years, but the fact is I’m American, and I am a Black woman in her sixties who only knows about Juste Debolte because of the twins - both of them. They often activate at different times, so when Lau is on and Larry seems unengaged, just wait. Larry will show up with his natural gifts as well at any given moment and say what he has to say, while blowing folks minds. Lau will step back some. Not a lot though. lol. Larry used to be the stronger communicator. Lau used to struggle much more with connecting with certain audiences directly, but that has changed. He’s appears to be less in his head and more open in the moment, more confident... Lau has a lot to say right now. He’s beautiful to watch in these moments because they are spiritual moments that are part of a man’s journey of constantly creating, looking and reaching inside and showing us his soul - his beautiful, Black, French, Caribbean and constantly evolving soul. This is a love story - one of embracing, growing, overcoming and loving one’s’ self, and sharing that love openly with others. He’s a better communicator today. I’m here for it.
