Cool video. I'm currently working on a multiple subjects teaching credential now and want to teach 4th grade. I worked in after school programs for 9 years, (mostly 5th, 4th, and 3rd, with some experience with 7th grade as well) so I am already used to managing my own class, and now I am a school bus driver while taking classes. I have two pieces of advice. 1. When you set up your groups, make sure none of the chairs/students have their backs facing the whiteboard. Looking to the side is quick and easy, but them turning around to see the board and then turning back around to do work uses more of their time and sometimes makes it more challenging for them to stay focused. 2. Place a few mirrors above your whiteboard angled slightly downwards so you can still see your students when your back is facing them. Even if you don't look at them very often, just the presence of the mirrors will contribute to better behavior as long as you first point out their purpose to the students.

I am not sure how old you are, but get experience working with kids just to see if you like it. For example for me I worked 3 years of summer camp at a zoo teaching them about animals while volunteering and I also worked at chuckecheese to see if I can be around crazy screaming children. While getting experience see if you enjoy it most days. That might tell you if you can tolerate children. Slso watch tons of teacher blogs to see if you can see yourself doing these things

Watch a ton of youtube videos and start reading through popular teacher books like the first days of school and others. I learned so much from KZbin though!

Do u have rowdy students in class ? How do u make them behave well in class ?

Yes, sometimes the kiddos have lots of energy! I usually combat this in a few ways. I love to offer kids some time to release energy through brain breaks or go noodle time. I also set goals and reward positive behavior through candy or dojo points!

I like this topic! I’ve been vlogging for a little bit and I want to use some of my better quality gear but if I can’t edit on my phone I tend to lose momentum! So, needless to say, my videos tend to be shot on my phone.

You might want to do your work at home in a place other than the bedroom. You want your bedroom to be a place for relaxing and sleeping. Having your work in that particular area does not give you a feeling of turning off from teaching, so to speak. Have you thought of using a darker shade of paper on your bulletin boards, such as light blue? Your anchor charts might be easier to see because they seem to disappear with the light grey brick paper. I hope that you are feeling better. Invest in a can of Professional Strength Lysol and use it at the end of the day. Walk quickly around the perimeter of your room as you are spraying Lysol and then shut the door behind you. You may also want to wipe down common areas in the classroom to keep intestinal bugs at bay. This is my 27th year of teaching, and just remember that it takes you three years to get used to the job. Try to focus on what went well during the day and not so much on what did not go well. That was the advice that my third grade teacher gave me 27 years ago. Best of luck to you.
