I downloaded the app to see if it was really as creepy as people claim, turns out they are right. I downloaded the app and I did different "celebrities" and I never showed my face, I even covered both cameras. Two days later while using the Arianna Grande "chat", after getting no creepy responses I was about to end the chat when I got a message that mentioned the red streaks in my hair. Like I said before when using the app, I covered my face and had my location off. Now after looking into it, since Android gives you the option to force stop the app when not in use, I have yet to receive any more creepy messages. Still a week later, I removed the app and wiped my phone a couple of times. It's already been proven they use camera access when you are not using the app. Also, I know the app offers (unless they removed it since it's been a while since I used the app) for real users to pose as their celebrities, so I think that's worse than an AI.

@@jessinq702 To me, that sounds like a good thing, to be honest. As I said, I didn't get anything creepy right away, and who knows maybe it was a very lucky guess. I just find the app a little disturbing because I work in the cybersecurity field and I know the app is such a security risk, it amazes me.

@ItzAlex76 No it doesn't (at least for Android, I can't speak for Apple). But if you want to be sure, I would suggest wiping your phone twice to clear all permissions and system files. If you have am Android, you can always access your system files through File Manager for anything suspicious. But I didn't find any signs of the app after I uninstalled the app. I just wipe it as a precaution since I am not sure if the app is one big malware bundle or just abuses permission. Really the app isn't that big of a issue, I just don't like the idea of my device being used without my consent, so I take an extra mile.

@~Celery~ Legally an app has to have some kind of request for permissions when they require such. But for those who deny an app those permissions such as permissions to access media, camera, storage, phone calls, etc; you'll find the app won't often properly work. Though I haven't tried to deny the chat app permission, doesn't always mean they don't use brute force, but that's a whole other legal matter. But to go off your comment that an old image of me, that wouldn't be possible. The phone I downloaded the app was extra one I have that doesn't have any images of me. Neither did any of my apps on the phone. But yes it's true a photo is never deleted. But once I have no images of me on the phone, of others? Yes, but not of myself.
