She was just 16 when Her beam routine and the "I got this!" moment just before she mounts the apparatus cemented me as a fan forever. Then later when doing DWTS, and she meets her partner her first words are "so we're going to win this right?" There is a positive glow that she emits every time she speaks.

I met Laurie Hernandez as a birthday gift for my 9th birthday (currently 15) and I just remember her being such a light. She was a big role model to me growing up, and meeting her is a core memory fs. I've met a handful of gymnasts (collegiate and olympic) throughout the years and you can def learn who all's putting on a mask in front of the camera and who's not. Laurie, was one of the most genuine and kind people I've ever met, and the way she acts on camera is how she is in person. I can't wait to see more of her in Paris
